Italy

A little about Italy

Italy is one of the most interesting European countries.

Thousands of tourists from all over the world come here every year. Some visit local attractions, others go to the carnival, and a third go shopping.

The most popular cities are Rome, Venice, Verona, Florence and Milan:

  • Rome is interesting for history buffs; the city has a lot of attractions: the Colosseum, the Roman Forum, the Vatican and others.
  • Venice, Florence and Verona are considered romantic cities: Venice is famous for its canals, gondoliers and the annual Venetian Carnival;
  • Weddings are often held in Florence;
  • Verona witnessed the love of Romeo and Juliet.
  • Milan is the most fashionable city in Italy. There are a lot of shops, boutiques and outlets here. Every year in the middle of summer and winter there is a sales season.
  • Italy is a Schengen country and you need a Schengen visa to visit it.

    This may be a valid visa from one of the European countries or an Italian visa.

    There are two types of Italian visas:

    1. National visa;
    2. Schengen visa.

    National visa is issued mainly to those persons. Those who come to the country for the purpose of study or work, this type of visa is extremely rarely issued to tourists.

    A Schengen visa gives you the opportunity to visit neighboring countries: Austria, Switzerland, France and others.

    An Italian visa can be obtained in several ways:

    1. On one's own;
    2. Through a travel agency.

    Algorithm for submitting documents and time interval for their preparation

    Visa Application Centre in Italy

    A short list of documents that must be submitted to the visa center to obtain an Italian visa:

    • International passport and its copy (validity period of the document must be +90 days from the date of departure from Italy).
    • Two color photographs on a white background, size 3.5x4.5, without corners or ovals, face size – 30-35mm.
    • Passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation + certificate from the place of work (position, salary, date of issue of the certificate).

    Important! Additionally, the visa center will request a medical insurance policy. This is a guarantee of quality medical care abroad.

    Insurance may also cover the loss of documents/luggage or their theft and other unforeseen losses that occur as a result of circumstances beyond the control of the insured person.

    Policy

    You can get insurance:

    • at the visa center;
    • at an insurance company;
    • online on the website (this is the most convenient way, because it is available around the clock, even at home: the insurance policy is sent by e-mail and printed, and you can pay by transferring funds from a card/electronic wallet using any Internet service).

    Minimum amount of insurance policy coverage = 30 thousand euros.

    When applying for a visa to travel to Italy at the Krasnodar visa center, a person will be required to provide proof of financial solvency, i.e., the presence of an amount that is considered sufficient to spend a certain number of days in Italy. For example, it is calculated that for one tourist you need to have at least 269.60 euros for a 5-day stay in Italy. The calculation of the amount depends on the number of travelers, length of stay abroad, purpose of the trip, etc.

    This amount can be confirmed by:

    • account statement (taken for 1 month);
    • photocopy of the passbook;
    • cash currency with a copy;
    • credit card + ATM check on card balance (valid for 3 days).

    Additional Information! You can use a bank guarantee from the inviting party (fidejussione bancaria) - this is bank coverage of living expenses (analogous to a loan). For such a service, you will need to return the loan amount + interest to the bank. You should contact the bank with such a request at least 2 weeks in advance, since registration takes about 10 days.

    It is necessary to provide a document that confirms the place of residence where the traveler will be accommodated upon arrival in Italy. For a tourist trip, such issues are resolved simply: the travel agency guarantees accommodation. If the trip to Italy is private or business, then a hotel reservation can be such a supporting document.

    At the visa center, everyone must fill out an application in English or Italian. The questions provide only general information about the traveler.

    Important! If necessary, assistance can be provided in filling out the form - such a service costs 250 rubles.

    It takes up to 4 days to prepare and issue a visa to Italy at the Krasnodar visa center. It is possible to speed up the process up to 2 days, but this is a paid service.
