How much does a visa to Bulgaria cost for Russians?

A Bulgarian short-term visa does not give the right to visit the Schengen countries, but, like the Schengen visa, it costs 35 euros. Close family members of Bulgarian citizens, children under 6 years of age, students and schoolchildren traveling to Bulgaria for educational purposes are exempt from paying them.

The fee for processing documents for a Bulgarian national visa D is 100 euros. They must be paid when submitting documents.

Who needs a “D” visa to Bulgaria

An immigration visa to Bulgaria is the first step towards obtaining a residence permit (temporary residence permit) or permanent residence (a plastic identity card allowing permanent residence in Bulgaria). The D visa is issued for six months and cannot be extended. Upon completion, you can either return to your homeland or apply for a residence permit.

We are in Nessebar, Bulgaria, thinking about the advisability of obtaining a D visa

Certain categories of citizens have grounds for obtaining such a visa:

  • pensioners who receive a pension in their homeland and have expressed a desire to live on this money in the Balkans;
  • representatives of foreign companies with branch(ies) in Bulgaria;
  • founders into owners of companies;
  • students studying at local educational institutions;
  • relatives of foreigners living in Bulgaria (including those who have recently received a D visa);
  • all other reasons for which a residence permit is usually obtained in another country: work, long-term medical treatment, journalistic activity, political asylum, etc.

Often our compatriots move to Bulgaria for downshifting. If income is not tied to location, then this is a good choice. True, downshifting is not an official basis for obtaining an immigrant visa, so those who want to move for a long time must select a reason from the official list and prepare the necessary set of documents for this.

To summarize, a “D” visa to Bulgaria is needed for those who, for whatever reason, intend to spend more than 90 days in a row in the country.

If you are planning to obtain a D visa to obtain a residence permit and regular residence in Bulgaria, then you should think about finding a reliable agency for purchasing a home. Team “Come with us!” recommends the real estate agency BolgarskiyDom!

Documents for visa application

The list of documents required to obtain a short-term Bulgarian visa is almost the same as for a Schengen visa:

  • A completed application form;
  • valid passport;
  • 1 color photo 35x45 mm;
  • medical insurance;
  • certificate from place of work/copy of pension certificate/copy of individual entrepreneur registration;
  • confirmation of hotel reservation and tickets;
  • proof of sufficient funds (50 euros per day and at least 500 euros for the trip).

On the Cherehapa service you can quickly select and obtain medical insurance on favorable terms.

The list of documents required for a long-term visa, which is often called an immigration visa, must be clarified with the consular service. All of them, except those issued in Bulgaria, must have a translation into Bulgarian. The embassy only accepts translations from translators accredited at the diplomatic mission.

Decor

From November 1, 2011, all applicants, in addition to the main package of papers, are required to provide the VC with a document called “Consent to the processing of personal data.”

Bulgarian consulate in Moscow or the story of obtaining a visa

This was something that is now difficult for us to imagine. Yeah, we were so green a year ago after all. Sometimes it seems that everything worked out for us then due to that happy accident that often visits beginners.

How it all began

When we first arrived at the Bulgarian Consulate in Moscow, we did not know that it only receives visitors from 9 to 11 am. The first time we went there was to certify sample signatures for opening a representative office. Then we still lived in Yekaterinburg. And based on requests and pleas, we were given assurances on the same day.

The queue at the consulate is short. But the rules there are strange. By the way, you don’t need to sign up in Moscow to apply for a D visa. But in St. Petersburg, registration is required. Moreover, everyone seems to want to go there so much that they sign up a week or two in advance.

Form up!

There is parking in front of the Bulgarian Consulate in Moscow. It is there that those who wish to join the Bulgarian people are waiting for the opening (9.00 am). Then, the queue lines up in several rows, depending on what “problems” someone has.

Documents for a visa to Bulgaria

So, queues to choose from: 3 + queue for Bulgarian citizens

1) certification

2) feed

3) receiving

4) Bulgarian citizens

Before the opening of the consulate, a Bulgarian guard comes out and lines everyone up in rows. Of course, being in line to receive documents is the most pleasant thing. Be careful, stand and watch how people are launched, 2-3 people from each mini-queue. It will be your turn quickly.

Rules of conduct at the Bulgarian Consulate in Moscow

Recently, a strip of tape was made inside the embassy, parallel to the windows where documents are accepted.:) The guards are vigilant, with particular strictness, so that only one person approaches the window. So, if someone is already standing at the window, God forbid, do not step beyond the line at your feet!

Also, do not use your phone under any circumstances. It is prohibited to use telephones there. Apparently, it’s distracting... They’ll shout at you as many times as it takes to get you out of the hall.

Paper trouble

Keep in mind that the Bulgarian consulate will only make copies for you if you have a good reason for this (for example, if they themselves lost the documents). That is, most likely, no one will make a copy for you. And don't wait.

Copies can be made 1) from a guy who takes out insurance in a minivan, which he parks at the consulate.

2) in the copy center, which is across the road from the Korean Embassy (on the right, if you stand with your back to the Bulgarian one).

Those who didn't have time are late

With all this, if it is already past 11:00, you may no longer be allowed into the consulate. So make copies in advance. Translations also need to be done in advance. We sent it by express mail to the translator in Moscow.

Copies - what should they be???

You are probably wondering why I wrote that we were incredibly lucky then? The fact is that, in our naivety, we made copies of all the documents, but did not have them certified by a Bulgarian notary. Well, this can also be blamed on the office that arranged the representation for us. Later, when we applied for a D visa for Alexander, we acted calmly and confidently. Well, we served it in St. Petersburg, not in Moscow.

How can I get to
