How to register at the German consulate in Novosibirsk

To apply for a visa at the consulate, you must first make an appointment at its visa department. You need to sign up through the website – service2.diplo.de, selecting the appropriate institution. Applicants should take into account that sometimes they have to wait a very long time for their turn, so it is better to collect documentation that has a short shelf life (for example, a bank statement is valid for only 3 days) after the date and time of registration have been determined.

Don't forget to take out travel insurance. You can find insurance at the best price here.

Each applicant must appear in person for an interview on the designated date. If several people from a family or company submit documents at the same time, a separate reception time is fixed for each of them.

Applicants have the opportunity to submit documents without an appointment at the visa service center.

Please note that all German consular missions accept clients depending on their regional location. In this case, the place of application will be determined not by the place of official registration, but by the actual place of residence. The consular district a citizen should contact can be found on the website of the official German mission. Let us remind you that residents of the Far Eastern and Siberian Federal Districts can contact the German Consulate in Novosibirsk.

During the registration period, you must fill out a visa application form indicating only current data. Along with the main package of documents, be sure to take with you a confirmation letter, which will be sent to the email address specified in the application after it is received at the consulate. Without a confirmation letter, the applicant may not even be allowed into the building itself.

Service partner VisaMetric

German foreign representative offices in the Russian Federation work with an official partner - VisaMetric.

VisaMetric provides support when submitting documents, transfers fully prepared documents to the Visa Department of the Embassy and issues ready-made passports. Direct processing of visa applications is carried out exclusively by German foreign missions.

In the Russian Federation, VisaMetric manages 20 visa service centers, the activities of which are controlled by German foreign representative offices. Applications can be submitted to the appropriate visa service center without an appointment.

Collection of documents

You can apply for a visa no earlier than three months before the start of your planned trip. It is best to start preparing documents immediately after you have planned your trip.

Please note that the minimum processing time (express visa) is 3 business days. Submitting an application for an express visa is possible only at visa service centers in Moscow, Yekaterinburg, Kaliningrad, Novosibirsk and St. Petersburg.

At other visa service centers, applications can only be submitted with a standard processing time, which is usually 10 calendar days, not including courier delivery.

The procedure involves mandatory payment of a consular fee and a service partner fee. Application forms and instructions are provided free of charge. No intermediary is required.

Filling out a visa application and collecting documents

To successfully submit your visa application, you must have a complete package of documents. Please prepare a visa application, passport photographs, your foreign passport, the necessary documents and funds to pay the consular fee. An incomplete package of documents cannot be processed.

The following documents are required to verify the necessary conditions for issuing a Schengen visa:

  • Confirmation of the purpose of your stay (Why do you want to go to Germany?);
  • Proof of funding, including health insurance (Are anticipated travel and stay costs covered?);
  • Confirmation of readiness to return to your country of residence (Do you have a family and work here? Are you planning a long-term stay in Germany?).

The provided documents must be authentic and correct in content. Fake or false documents will result in visa denial. Misleading the consulate about the actual purpose of the trip (for example, applying for a tourist visa instead of a planned business trip) will also lead to a refusal to issue a visa.

Submitting documents in itself does not entitle you to a visa. In some cases, additional documents may be required.

Important: Please do not send documents to the visa department of the Embassy on your own initiative - especially before submitting your application. These documents cannot be stored and/or processed at the consulate. We ask inviters to send documents directly to the invited person for their subsequent submission for processing.

When submitting additional documents, please indicate the case number (the so-called “barcode” that was assigned when submitting documents), as well as the applicant’s first and last name.

Sign up to submit an application

Applications for a Schengen visa can be submitted during the opening hours of visa service centers without an appointment. You can also sign up to submit documents at a visa service center that operates in the region of your residence. Full information about making an appointment to submit documents through the service partner VisaMetric

Along with this, it is possible, by appointment, to submit documents directly at the Visa Department of the relevant German foreign mission, without resorting to the services of VisaMetric. Due to the heavy workload of the Embassy, waiting for documents to be submitted may take a long time.

In this case, personal presence at the interview is mandatory. Each applicant must make a separate appointment (for example, a family of three requires three appointments).

In both cases, making an appointment takes place online through RK-Termin. According to geographical principles, German foreign missions in the Russian Federation are divided into consular districts. Jurisdiction is determined solely on the basis of the actual place of residence of the applicant.

An overview of consular districts and authorized consulates or visa service centers can be found in the General information section.

Important: it is not allowed to bring mobile phones, computers, tablets, cameras, cameras, sound recording devices, luggage, liquids, weapons, scissors, as well as sharp and cutting objects into the building of the Embassy and Consulates General.

Submitting an application

If you decide to submit documents through a service partner, your personal presence is required. Applying through a proxy is only possible if you have already received a Schengen visa within the last 59 months and your fingerprints have already been taken.

If you decide to submit documents at the relevant German foreign mission, attendance by appointment and personal presence is strictly necessary.

In both cases, employees of the German foreign representative office or VisaMetric service partner accept the documents you collected and, if necessary, find out the details of your trip. You pay the consular fee (the service partner also has a service fee), your biometric data (photo, fingerprints) are entered into the processing system.

Cost of services

When submitting documents, you must pay the consular and service fees. The consular fee is 35 euros for citizens of the Russian Federation. The service fee is 20.40 euros. An urgent visa cannot be opened through the German visa center in Novosibirsk!

Persons who have already undergone this procedure within the last five years, children under 12, as well as persons who, due to physical disabilities, cannot submit fingerprints, are exempt from the fingerprinting procedure.

It is worth remembering that consular and visa fees are not refundable if a visa is refused. All applicants, except children under 6 years of age, must pay fees. Payment must be made in rubles, cash or Visa and MasterCard cards.

Processing at the German foreign representation

Regardless of the method of submitting documents - through the VisaMetric visa service center or through a German foreign mission - the verification of documents and the decision on your application are within the competence of the relevant German foreign mission.

Based on the submitted documents, the compliance of each case with legal grounds is verified. Please understand that answers to questions about the status of the case during the consideration of the application, as a rule, cannot be provided.

If all documents are collected in full, the Visa Department usually needs several working days to process the application. Processing time increases if extended document verification is required or additional information is requested about the applicant or his actual purpose of travel.

When submitting documents through a VisaMetric service partner, you should expect several additional processing days to take into account the transportation time of your documents from the visa service center to the Visa Section of the Embassy.

You can always check on the service partner’s website where your documents/passport are located. In addition, you can ask the service partner for the date of sending the documents to the German mission abroad, as well as specify the expected date of receipt.

For reasons of personal data protection, provision of detailed information is possible only to the applicant himself, his legal representative or an authorized person who has a written power of attorney. Unfortunately, third party requests cannot be processed.
