Latest pension news
Russian pensioners who have their pensions transferred to bank cards must apply for a MIR card. This card must be issued before September 30. From October 1, 2021, pensions will not be accrued to bank cards that have a different payment system.
People of retirement age who do not use bank cards will also be able to receive pension payments in cash through post offices.
Rural residents will receive an increase in pensions
Pensions for rural pensioners will be increased by 25%. The bonus will be calculated on a fixed payment basis. The recalculation will be done by September 1. But such recalculation and increase applies only to those residents of rural areas who have work experience equal to 30 years in agriculture.
The Pension Fund notes that work for rural residents who worked in the following agricultural areas is counted as length of service:
- Plant growing.
- Animal husbandry.
- Fish farming.
- Work on a collective farm.
- Work on a state farm.
- Work at a machine and tractor station.
- Work at an intercollective farm enterprise.
Pensions will be recalculated automatically. This will happen if the pension file has all the necessary information. Then the Russian Pension Fund will recalculate without the pensioner’s application.
The increase in 2021 is 1,421 rubles.
If there are no documents confirming the length of service, there will be no recalculation and, accordingly, no increase. But a pensioner can submit documents proving their right to a bonus. If a rural pensioner has not received an increase, then you need to contact the Pension Fund before the end of the calendar year.

Indexation of pensions for non-working pensioners from September 1, 2019: who will receive pension increases and by how much, latest news.
Who will have their pensions increased from September 1, 2021 in Russia?
On September 1, 2021, the indexation of insurance pensions by 7.05% ends in Russia, and pensions for rural residents were increased not only due to indexation, but also due to a 25% increase in the fixed payment. However, this increase applies to those who have worked in agriculture for at least 30 years.
The Pension Fund also reported that this experience includes work in the fields of crop production, livestock and fish farming, work on collective farms at machine and tractor stations, at inter-collective farm enterprises and on state farms.
“Pensions are recalculated automatically. However, this happens if the payment file contains the necessary information. In this case, the Pension Fund will recalculate everything without additional statements from the pensioner until September 1, 2021,” said Oksana Krasovskaya, leading lawyer at the European Legal Service. Her words are quoted by Life.
Moreover, if there are not enough documents, then the recalculation will not be made, although the pensioner can at any time submit additional documents proving his right to receive the bonus.
“We should hurry. If a pensioner applied for recalculation from January 1 to December 31, 2021, then it will be done from January 1, 2019. If the pensioner applies to the Pension Fund after December 31, 2021, then the recalculation will be carried out from the first day of the month following the month in which the application was accepted. So if there is no automatic recalculation, and you have the right to it, then you need to report this to the Pension Fund before the end of the year,” the lawyer emphasizes.
Against this background, city surcharges will be increased for capital pensioners from September 1, 2021: starting next month, the minimum income of pensioners in Moscow will be 19.5 thousand, and this is two thousand more than it was.
At the end of July, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev approved new rules for calculating the regional cost of living for a pensioner, and from now on this indicator will depend on both the main indicators in the region and on the indicators for the first and second quarters in the country as a whole. This approach, according to experts, will eliminate the underestimation of the cost of living in the regions, on which the size of the pension depends. According to government calculations, this will require 4.3 billion rubles, and the innovation itself will affect 445 thousand non-working pensioners in 13 regions of Russia.

Increasing the minimum pension in Moscow
A pension increase of 2,000 rubles awaits some non-working pensioners in Moscow from September 1, 2021.
The increase will be received by those pensioners whose income is less than 19,500 rubles. This city state standard (GSS) was established by the capital authorities. Its calculation was made in accordance with the monetary minimum necessary for the primary needs of Muscovites (food, housing, clothing, treatment). An additional payment up to the established minimum amount will be made to Muscovite pensioners who have lived in the capital for 10 years or more. The pension of any Moscow pensioner should not be less than that established by the State Social Insurance Fund.
Not all pensioners will receive an increase of 2,000 rubles. For example, if the pension was 18,500 rubles, then the pensioner will receive an increase of 1,000 rubles.
The government does not say how significant the increase in pension payments will be
After the announcement of the increase in pensions, there was no explanation about their size. It is extremely difficult to predict the size of pension payments as of September 1, 2018. However, experts say that it makes no sense for people to wait for serious changes.
In late July and early August, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said that the pension fund was close to bankruptcy. This statement was cited as an argument for the need for pension reform.
Raising the retirement age was thus served to the people as a “bitter medicine.” The Prime Minister's statement was also supported by members of the United Russia party.
Against the backdrop of the “retirement age scandal,” pension payments were increased on August 1, 2021. They raised more questions than answers.
Many protesters began to say that this increase indicates that the impending bankruptcy of the pension fund is illusory. In addition, the increase itself was extremely insignificant - it amounted to 200 rubles. The exception is working pensioners, who were paid about 500 rubles.
It is difficult to expect more significant increases on September 1, 2018. Presumably, they will be even less significant than they were in August. However, it is difficult to predict the situation one hundred percent, since the government really needs to compensate for the inconvenience caused by raising the retirement age for the Russian population.

However, there are a number of nuances in this issue, because only those people who receive pensions below the minimum in terms of all benefits can apply for additional payment (they are recalculated in material equivalent for each pensioner individually). In addition, to apply for additional payments, you need to live on the territory of the Russian Federation for most of the year, because otherwise they will be canceled.
Let's sum it up
- Pensioners receiving pensions on a bank card must apply for a MIR card by September 30, 2021. Only pensions will be transferred to her.
- From September 1, rural pensioners who have worked in agriculture for 30 years will receive an increase in their pension.
- Moscow pensioners whose income is less than 19,500 rubles will receive an increase in their pension from September 1, 2021.

Laws of the Russian Federation 2021-2021
Until 2021, these periods were taken into account only in the woman’s work experience and did not affect the amount of the established pension. However, such recalculation depends on many factors and will not be beneficial in all cases. So, if at the time of the birth of a child a woman was not in an employment relationship or has several children, then as a result of recalculation the pension size may increase, and for women with one child and high earnings during working life, the result of such recalculation may be negative.

Women who have one or more children (including adults born in Soviet times before the 1990s or later) and retired in old age before 01/01/2021 can now count on an increase in maintenance by counting them in the form of pension points as follows: called “non-insurance periods”, in which they cared for each child until he reached the age of 1.5 years.
Indexation of payments
Indexation of payments to Russian pensioners was scheduled for April, and the Minister of Labor said that its size was 4%, because this was the expected level of inflation. On April 1, it was the social pension that was indexed, which is usually assigned to disabled citizens or those who were unable to earn their way to work (it requires a certain length of service).
Regarding working pensioners, the information is clear - their labor benefits will not be indexed, and this situation may continue for the next three years (while the country copes with the consequences of the crisis). Today, according to official statistics, almost 10 million people work in the country, and indexation will not be carried out for them; they can count on an increase in pension payments due to indexation of pension points.
The authorities have not yet provided official data on what the indexation of pensions will be from September 1, so there is no additional news on this matter yet.
Increases to monthly accruals from September 1
Considering that the recalculation is carried out individually and in accordance with the indicators of each citizen of the Russian Federation who perform labor activity while on a well-deserved rest, it is possible to determine only the average increase for the country. The recalculation took place in accordance with the accumulated pension points for 2021. Their maximum number during the accounting period can be no more than three. In accordance with these indicators, one cannot count on a large increase. After the August recalculation, many pensioners will receive an increase of no more than 200 rubles. Considering the situation in the country, this is a very meager indicator that practically does not improve the financial situation of citizens.
Given that the ruble exchange rate is falling significantly, there is no need to say that working pensioners have begun to feel better. The final recalculation will end in September after pensioners receive updated monthly accruals. It is noteworthy that the recalculation was carried out without an application, so citizens of the Russian Federation who receive monthly accruals and continue to work will not have to visit the Pension Fund to formalize the corresponding changes.
