In addition, the employer is required to submit documents in the ADV-6-1 form to the Pension Fund within two weeks from the date of employment of the citizen. Within three weeks from the date of transfer of documents, the Pension Fund prepares a pension certificate with a unique SNILS number assigned to it for a foreign citizen.

Representatives of near and far abroad, employed in accordance with Russian legislation, have the right to independently apply to the Pension Fund to obtain SNILS. It is enough to select the local branch of the Pension Fund of the Russian Federation and contact it with an identification document, as well as a work book with a note about employment in Russia.

If the applicant’s personal documents are drawn up in a foreign language, it is necessary to notarize their copy translated into Russian. SNILS will be produced and issued within the next two weeks after the documents are submitted.
