Rules for applying for a child visa

It must be remembered that if a traveler wants to take a child with him on a trip, then a birth certificate will not be enough to obtain a permit. A child visa to Singapore is no different, even in price.

Note! When submitting documents for a child visa, you should attach to the entire package a birth certificate, the child’s passport (if available), or a copy of the parent’s passport, and indicate the page number where the child is registered.

If a child will visit Singapore with one of the parents, then there is no need to obtain a notarized power of attorney from the other parent. This document is required only if the child is traveling with third parties (permission is sufficient even from one of the parents).

Migration card

Upon arrival in Singapore, before crossing the border, a migration card is filled out. To speed up the process of passing through the border control point, such cards are usually issued on the plane, where our flight attendants can help fill them out. It should be filled out with a blue or black pen, in block Latin letters. The card must be filled out for each person entering, including each child with their own passport. Sample of filling out a migration card when entering Singapore. There is no need to download a blank card from the Internet, print it out and fill it out at home; just take a sample of the form with you.

Photo requirements

To obtain a permit, you cannot use photographs that were previously used for a passport. The photo must be in color and recent - taken no more than three months before the date of application. When applying for a Singapore visa online, you must submit a photo in jpeg format weighing no more than 60 KB and measuring 400 by 514 pixels. In the paper version, the dimensions should be standard - 35 by 45 mm.

The photo must be taken against a white background. No corners or ovals needed. The head takes up 70-80% of the photo. The presence of hats is permitted only for religious reasons.

Singapore without a visa

Russians require a visa to visit Singapore. The only exceptions are holders of diplomatic and service passports, as well as Russian citizens transiting through Singapore. Other citizens of the Russian Federation must apply for a visa for any purpose of visit.

96-hour visa-free transit is available only if you are the holder of a Russian passport (which expires no earlier than 6 months from the date of entry into Singapore) and are traveling from one country to another with a transfer in Singapore. The customs officer will necessarily require you to present a ticket to your final destination (electronic copies will do). Please note that the ticket must be with a fixed departure date and the transfer must be made within 96 hours.

It is worth noting that entry into Singapore can be done by any type of transport, but leaving the country through visa-free transit is only necessary by plane!

Documents for visa-free transit:

  • Foreign passport (valid for 6 months or more)
  • Air ticket to a third country (an electronic copy is available), departing in the next 96 hours

A cruise, as well as a trip to a third country by ferry, are not grounds for visa-free entry.

If you plan to stay in the country for a longer time or do not intend to transit, then you need to take care of obtaining an entry visa.

Singapore

Startups planning to start a business in Singapore can apply for an EntrePass visa , which is initially issued for up to 2 years (after which they can apply for a residence permit). To obtain it you need:

  • Provide a detailed business plan indicating all the details of running a project in Singapore - from marketing strategy to a clear indication of the number of future employees at different stages of business development
  • Confirm having $50,000 in a bank account in Singapore
  • Offer the country a project that will contribute to the development of technology or carries the criterion of innovation. The project should not be a traditional business. For example, if you want to open a regular cafe, hairdresser or souvenir shop, your chances of getting an EntrePass are less than if you open a mobile application development company
  • Sponsor an account in a company in the country in Singapore dollars - $3,000 SG. This amount is refunded after the visa expires

The visa can also be obtained if the startup participates in the government incubator program in Singapore or will be backed by a venture capital fund or accredited business angel. The volume of investment in the project in this case is at least $100,000 SG.

The approximate time for obtaining a visa is 4-6 weeks, considering the application - largely depends on how convincing it is. If your visa application is rejected, you can reapply within 90 days. The business plan needs to be revised.

After receiving your EntrePass visa, you must register your company within 30 days. This process takes on average one day. To extend a visa, during the first year you need to hire at least two local residents, and the company's turnover must be at least $100,000. The period for which it is extended depends on the number of locals hired by the company and the turnover - the higher the numbers, the longer permitted period of stay in the country.

There are many accelerators in the country, incl. international ones that offer different programs for startups.
