All Russian citizens who intend to visit Germany will need a visa. The most convenient way to do this is to contact a German visa center on Russian territory. A direct visit to a diplomatic mission takes longer. In addition, all issues will have to be resolved independently without the help of employees, which cannot be said about the CC - they will provide assistance on many issues that arise during the service process.
In 2021, VisaMetric became the only official representative authorized to accept applications for a German visa.
Service is at the highest level with customer care. To make cooperation as comfortable and effective as possible, we suggest that you familiarize yourself with detailed information about the German CC in Moscow.

How to submit documents to the consulate or CC, how much does it cost?
Germany visa center in St. Petersburg
All duly executed and reliable documents, including the application form, must be submitted to the German CC in Moscow or other accredited consular branch institutions through the following persons:
- Personally, the candidate for entry into the country by appearing at the CC by appointment or on a first-come, first-served basis with further payment of the consular fee and transfer of papers through a special window.
- Husband, wife, mother, father, if there is evidence confirming a close relationship. It should be noted that only these persons are close relatives, and the rest will need a power of attorney authorizing such actions.
- Third parties involved in the process of obtaining a visa for the applicant - private agents or subordinate couriers at work. Each of the listed or other persons is required to have a power of attorney certified by a notary. Transfer of documents to third parties is possible only during the repeated and subsequent process of obtaining a visa to Schengen countries.
Important! After submitting documents to the CC, the applicant must be prepared to be called in person after reviewing them to carry out the fingerprinting procedure using a scanner. This procedure takes place once every 5 years, so not every candidate undergoes it.
German visa
Applicants must understand that when traveling to Germany, in addition to all expenses for the trip itself, they will have to pay all consular costs imposed by the government of the country, as well as the services of the CC itself. More details about this:
- The basic embassy fee is 35 euros* per applicant, but it is worth noting that children under 6 years of age receive German visas for free. The review period is a maximum of 15 working days, but in fact, high-quality German lawyers do this literally in 1 week.
- Expedited review of documents will cost another 35 euros, a total of 70 euros* per person if he needs review as soon as possible.
- Services of the customer service of the CC itself for analysis of documents and cooperation with the diplomatic corps - 25 euros * from each applicant, and also, if necessary, additional services are added to this figure - registration of medical insurance in the building of the CC - 4000-5500 rubles * per person, filling out a questionnaire - visa applications – 500 rubles*, courier services – individually.
The CC always warns that, in the worst case scenario, applicants should reserve 2-3 days from the deadlines announced by the embassy for the CC’s work on transmitting and receiving documents.
Important! Not a single embassy in the world gives a 100% guarantee that the applicant will receive a visa if the consular fees are paid, since cases of refusal also occur. According to international jurisdiction, all money paid for a visa is non-refundable, since the application has been reviewed and the work of the consulate has been completed.
The main problems for applicants when obtaining a visa at the German CC in Moscow
All visa candidates may have a number of problems if they do not have everything in order with legal purity, or if they did not approach the collection of necessary documents for a German visa with an insufficient level of responsibility. In any of the presented cases, a visa to Germany may be refused.
Refusal stamps in the applicant’s passport have 4 main categories presented in the list:
- For candidates who were inattentive when drawing up applications and filling out the visa questionnaire, and also provided an insufficient number of documents, they will receive a refusal marked “A”.
- Those applicants who have questions that require resolution during a personal interview with the consul will receive a category “B” refusal stamp.
- If a citizen of the Russian Federation does not have an official place of employment, or he does not have his own housing, which keeps him in his homeland, and also if his income is too small (less than 800 euros* per month) or there are insufficient funds or turnover in his account (at the rate of 80 euros per day per person), then he can receive a type “C” refusal with a visa quarantine in Germany for up to 3 months.
- The most persistent violators of the right to stay in the Schengen zone, members of gangs and terrorist organizations, persons with multiple convictions, as well as those who behaved inappropriately within the walls of the consulate or forged accompanying documentation will receive a “D” refusal. This code means a lifetime ban on a German visa, and indeed on any Schengen visa.
In order to correct situations prescribed by refusal categories “A”, “B” and “C”, applicants must re-submit documents with greater responsibility and wait to receive their visa.
In fact, if you don’t take the German consulate as a standard, then any citizen of the Russian Federation can always get a Schengen visa from more loyal Greeks, Latvians or Spaniards, and then, having flown to a country that has granted the right of entry, freely travel by train or rented car to Germany.

What types of documents can you obtain?
Germany is a member of the Schengen Agreement and travel of Russian citizens to this country requires obtaining one of the following types of visas:
- national - required for those who intend to stay in the state for more than 90 days for the purpose of study, work or reunion with relatives;
- tourist - suitable for tourism or treatment;
- guest card - useful if your family or friends live in Germany and can send an invitation;
- transit - you will need it if you are flying to another country and need to make a transfer.
What documents are collected for a visa?
You should take all the responsibility when completing the package of papers, because the slightest discrepancy in information can lead to not only a postponement of the trip, but also a deterioration in your visa history. So, to obtain an entry permit you will need to prepare:
- completed applicant application form;
- a passport with at least two blank pages and a copy of its first page;
- two photos measuring 3.5 by 4.5 centimeters;
- passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation and its copies;
- valid insurance;
- a certificate from the employer indicating the position and official salary (it should not be less than 30 thousand rubles);
- statement from the bank;
- photocopies of tickets;
- hotel reservation;
- a receipt confirming payment of the consular fee.
Where to apply for a visa
You can submit your application yourself at the consular section of the German Embassy - this can only be done in a few large cities in Russia. To do this, you need to book a date in advance and show up on the appointed day with a full package of documents. Obtaining an entry permit on your own is very difficult, since consular officers take into account every detail, and any inaccuracy can cost a ruined trip.
If you do not want to take risks, contact the services of a trusted visa service center, whose employees will take care of all the paperwork difficulties.
