To enter the territory of Italy, any citizen of the Russian Federation must first obtain a visa. To open a visa, the applicant must collect a certain list of documents and submit them for consideration to one of the Italian consulates, in accordance with their consular district (residents of St. Petersburg must submit a visa application to the Consulate General of Italy in St. Petersburg). But the consulate’s resources are limited and employees are no longer able to satisfy the requests of everyone. For this reason, visa centers were created, which act as intermediaries between the applicant and the consular office, taking on part of the work of checking the applicants’ documents for correctness and taking fingerprints. One of the Italian visa centers is located in St. Petersburg.

Cost of services: consular and service fee
The consular fee for opening a Schengen visa for Russians will be 35 euros. Sometimes it happens that a document is required as soon as possible. Then obtaining a passport will cost twice as much, but you will need documents confirming the validity of their urgent issuance. Payment must be made to the visa center cash desk in Russian rubles on the same day the documents are submitted.
In addition to the consular fee, the CC also issues a service fee. This is payment for employees doing their job. Its size is 19.50 EUR, or 1350 RUB, if converted into our currency. It is also paid along with the consular fee - on the day of submission of documents. By the way, if the issuance of documents is refused, the amount of both fees is non-refundable, because they are payments made for the processing of received documents.
