What pensions will increase from August 1
Calculation of additional payments is carried out only for insurance pensions. This is due to the fact that the increase occurs only due to insurance premiums. All other payments remain the same. Working pensioners who receive old-age and disability insurance pensions have the right to an increase if they received a “white” salary. Recipients of payments in the event of the loss of a breadwinner also have the right to recalculation, but only once - from August 1 of the year following the year the payments were assigned.
Indexation of pension payments from August 1, 2021
Since 2013, the growth of pensions for working pensioners has been:
- 2013 - 10.7 thousand rubles;
- 2014 - 11.6 thousand rubles;
- 2015 - 12.8 thousand rubles;
- 2016 - 13.2 thousand rubles;
- 2017 - 13.8 thousand rubles;
- 2018 - 14.2 thousand rubles.
Every year the size of pension payments, albeit slightly, increases. But the scheme and terms of recalculation depend on the status of the pensioner:
- Pensions of non-working pensioners were indexed twice a year – in February and April.
- Payments to working pensioners were recalculated in August by increasing accrued pension points.
Indexation of pensions for working beneficiaries was frozen in 2021 for the purpose of budget savings. This decision is enshrined in Law No. 385-FZ of December 29, 2015.
At the beginning of 2021, deputies introduced a draft law for consideration, according to which indexation of pensions was to be resumed from July 1, 2021. However, its consideration was postponed.
Recent changes in pension legislation have resulted in the spread of false information. Thus, the network first frightened pensioners with mythical e-points, then news appeared about the resumption of indexation and an increase in pensions from August 1, 2018.
This information has not been confirmed by official sources. There are no plans to index pension payments for working pensioners in 2021.
The government does not plan to return to the issue of “frozen” indexation, since the growth of real incomes of the population, including working pensioners, exceeds the rate of inflation.
Missed indexations are taken into account in the final calculation of the pension after retirement.
What is pension recalculation in August for working pensioners?
First, you need to remember that the amount of any insurance pension is calculated based on accumulated pension points (individual coefficient). And even after her appointment, their number is not final. For a working pensioner, their number may be increased.
Since 2015, all insurance contributions from our wages are transferred into points and taken into account on an individual personal account.
Many continue to work after retirement. In this case, insurance premiums from their wages continue to go to the Pension Fund. They are converted into so-called points. To get them back as part of your pension, you do not need to write any applications. For this purpose, the Pension Fund of the Russian Federation will carry out an undeclared return of accumulated points annually in August for pensioners who continue to work.
Recalculation for pensioners in August (clause 3, part 1, article 18 of the Law “On Insurance Pensions”) is calculated based on unaccounted coefficients after the pension was assigned.

But there are important restrictions introduced by part four of Article 18 of Law No. 400-FZ:
1. For “silent” pensioners who do not have a funded payment, the maximum such increase in August is limited to 3 points.
2. For those who create savings in non-state pension funds (NPFs) and management companies, the maximum increase in the month of August is limited to 1.875 points.
Due to the fact that since 2014, all our insurance premiums are transferred to the formation of insurance payments, regardless of the choice of NPF or Management Company, then for recalculation in August 2021 the maximum limit will be three points for everyone.

Pension Fund employees also explained that pension savings over the past year were three times higher than inflation, which was equal to 3 percent, and now the size of their pension will increase by an average of 9.13%.
At least 80,000 citizens of our country are waiting for a pension increase in August of this year. The size of the funded pension is influenced by contributions made by employers, or by the citizen himself who invested them.
Indexation of pensions for working pensioners 2021: when and how much
In February 2021 and 2021, the pensions of working pensioners were NOT indexed. From January 1, 2018, the insurance pension for non-working pensioners will be increased. And there are no plans to increase insurance pensions for those working not in January or February 2018. To start receiving an indexed pension, working pensioners must quit their job.
Indexation of pensions in 2021 will affect only those working pensioners who are recipients of state pensions, including social ones. These payments will be indexed by approximately 2.9% from April 1, 2021.
And in the next two years, in 2021 and 2020, the social pension, according to Alexander Kurtin, deputy chairman of the board of the Russian Pension Fund (PFR), should increase by 3.9 percent and 3.5 percent, respectively.

Recalculation of pensions for working pensioners is usually carried out from August 1. In February 2021, working pensioners were denied an increase in their insurance pension. But there will still be a recalculation in August.

Indexation not paid to a working pensioner during his period of work will be returned to him only after dismissal.
