New conditions for entry into Ukraine in July: tests or vaccination

From June 7, entry conditions were changed, which apply to both foreigners and citizens of the country. According to the changes, to cross the borders of Ukraine, any citizen must provide one of three documents (of his choice) confirming the absence of coronavirus:

  • Test for COVID-19 using PCR research;
  • Rapid antigen test;
  • Vaccination certificate (full course - 2 doses of vaccination).

Each document must be in English. The coronavirus test is valid for no more than 3 days, and you need to be vaccinated with a vaccine that is approved by WHO and the country of entry (Ukraine).

Foreign citizens who permanently reside in Ukraine may not present these documents, but then they will need to stay in quarantine for 2 weeks. But self-isolation can be stopped by passing the test already on the territory of Ukraine.

Through which checkpoints can you enter Ukraine?

The Ukrainian government has resumed pedestrian and road traffic with Russia. You can cross the border by car only at the following checkpoints: Dolsk and Vilcha. You can view all checkpoints on this map. Currently operating: Chongar, Melovoe, Troebortnoye, Vilche, Maryinka, Goptovka, Yunakovka.

According to the instructions of the authorities, compulsory medical insurance will be checked at the border.

Checkpoints

There are three checkpoints between Ukraine and Crimea - two in the Kalanchak region (in the direction of Kherson and Novaya Kakhovka) and one in the Genichesk region (in the direction of Melitopol).

The neutral zone is the territory from the border of the Kherson region to the border of Crimea, 2.5 kilometers long. This road can be covered on foot and even found picturesque if you don’t have luggage and want to save money. A more comfortable option is the carriers offering their services here.

All three checkpoints on the border of Crimea with Ukraine have resumed work

Let us remind you that problems with crossing the border of Crimea with Ukraine began on Sunday, August 7. Then all checkpoints were temporarily closed for unknown reasons. The Armyansk (Kalanchak) checkpoint was completely blocked for two days; at this point passengers were not allowed to enter either Crimea or the territory of Ukraine. At the checkpoint "Perekop" ("Chaplynka"), passage was carried out only in the direction of Crimea. The Dzhankoy (Chongar) checkpoint was blocked yesterday for several hours, after which it resumed work.

Rules for entry into Ukraine in July 2021

  • If a citizen of Ukraine sends an invitation to a citizen of Russia, the second has the right to enter the country without any restrictions.
  • The rule also applies to those citizens who have registered employment.
  • Russian citizens can visit Ukraine in the event of death or illness of close relatives.

Please note that other categories of citizens can visit the country, but in this case a thorough check will be carried out at the checkpoint.

Thus, the rules for entering Ukraine in 2021 have not changed. Russians who need to enter the country can still do so if they have all the necessary documents.

Please also note that there is a special requirement for travel insurance with coronavirus coverage. It must be properly formatted and contain the statement “covers the risks of COVID-19.”

The insurance policy must necessarily cover the treatment of COVID-19. In addition, it is important for inspectors that the policy specifically indicates the risk of coronavirus.

Note! This insurance is checked during passport control. Only the insurer provides insurance from AlfaStrakhovanie, which clearly states the risk of COVID-19. With such a policy, you can be sure that you will not be asked any unnecessary questions.

Therefore, be sure to print out your insurance policy. In some cases they may make concessions and ask to print it, but sometimes they just unroll it.

Latest news about crossing the border between Ukraine and the Russian Federation

Even before the pandemic began, it was possible to get to Kyiv from Moscow by ground transport, namely by train. Later, this method was banned as well.

Nowadays, Russian citizens in Ukraine face great difficulties when trying to cross the border. At the same time, many still succeed: Russians shared a method that helped them return home from Ukraine.

To come to the Russian Federation from a neighboring state, Russian citizens travel to the Ukrainian border on private buses, since regular buses do not operate in this direction. As a rule, private owners take very small numbers of passengers on minibuses - about seven people. The cost of a ticket for such a minibus is approximately 2,700 rubles. Typically, passengers are dropped off at the border, which citizens must cross on foot. On Russian territory, you need to board another bus heading to the desired locality.
