How to apply and how much does it cost?

As mentioned above, there are three different ways to obtain a Jordan visa. Each of them has its pros and cons.

Upon arrival at the airport

The simplest method, for which the traveler will not need anything other than a passport with a suitable validity period: at least 6 months from the date of return from a trip to Jordan. You do not need to take any photographs or any forms with you. In rare cases, the border guard may ask to see a hotel voucher and return ticket.

Upon arrival in the Arab kingdom, before passing through passport control, a migration card is filled out. To speed up the process of passing through the border control point, such cards are often issued on the plane, where flight attendants can help fill them out. They are filled with black paste in block Latin letters.

The card must be issued for each person entering, including each child with their own passport. There is no need to download a blank card from the Internet, print it out and fill it out in advance, but you can take a sample of the form with you.

Upon entry into the country, a single-entry visa is issued for thirty days.

Such a permit will cost 20 JOD (about $28). A significant disadvantage of this method of obtaining a visa is the long queues that will have to wait after the flight.

Through the embassy

Registration of a visa at the Jordanian Embassy takes no more than three working days, delays. A not too voluminous package of documents will be required, and refusals are extremely rare. Only through the embassy is it possible to obtain a double or multiple entry visa.

It is mandatory to obtain a Jordanian visa from the embassy if the trip involves crossing the border between Jordan and Israel at the Allenby / King Hussein border crossing opposite Jericho, on the main route from Jerusalem to Amman.

When obtaining a visa at the embassy, no fee is charged for children included in their parents' passport. Children traveling abroad pay the full cost of the visa.

If the child is included in the parent’s passport and is traveling with him, you should inform about this when submitting documents so that the corresponding note is placed on the visa.

Entering the country through Aqaba

When entering the Arab kingdom through the Aqaba free economic zone for no less than two days and no more than thirty days, you can obtain a permit free of charge. You will also have to leave the country through one of the checkpoints located within the free zone: the airport and seaport of Aqaba, the Arava checkpoint (on the border with Israel) and the Hakl checkpoint (on the border with Saudi Arabia).

There is a second option for obtaining a visa for free: if the tourist arrived in the country through another city, but goes to Aqaba and registers there within forty-eight hours. However, quite often border services refuse to issue a visa for free, despite all the travelers’ explanations that they are heading to Aqaba.

If the traveler is visiting the country for less than two nights, he will be charged a visa fee of 40 JOD and an additional ASEZA fee of 20 JOD. If a tourist stays in Jordan for less than two nights, but the trip includes a visit to Petra, he is exempt from the ASEZA fee. In both cases there is a departure fee of 10 JOD.

Important! There are certain nuances when crossing the border through the Arava checkpoint.

This crossing is intended for those Palestinians who have traveled from Jordan to the West Bank and vice versa. Entry through this checkpoint is only permitted as part of a tourist group. Passport information must be provided to the company organizing the tour no later than forty-eight hours before the trip.

Medical insurance

Medical insurance is not part of the mandatory package of documents required to obtain a visa. But experienced tourists still recommend registering it to protect their health.

The amount of coverage recommended for travel to European countries is 30 thousand euros. This will protect you from unforeseen situations and protect you in case of a sharp deterioration in health.

It is important! Travelers are also strongly recommended to be vaccinated against hepatitis B, A and typhoid fever. Elderly people are advised to be careful when traveling.

To obtain medical insurance to Jordan, we recommend using the service cherehapa.ru

What are the rules for entering the UAE during the coronavirus pandemic?

New rules for entry into the United Arab Emirates were established after the UAE's borders, closed due to coronavirus, were reopened to tourists. These rules are summarized on the website of the Russian Embassy in the UAE.

In addition, you must have a return ticket

.

The number of flights from Russia to the UAE and the airlines that operate them are still limited. Currently, you can fly from Moscow to Dubai with direct flights from companies such as Aeroflot, Emirates, Flydubai. Of course, you can fly with transfers.

You can check the availability of air tickets to Dubai using the Aviasales search.

However, no matter which route or airline you take, the requirements for visiting the UAE are the same and must be followed.

PCR test for coronavirus for traveling to the UAE - where to do it?

Having a negative PCR test result for coronavirus is a prerequisite for entry into the UAE.
Without the test result, they simply do not board the plane (regardless of the country of departure and the airline). Requirements for the PCR test:

- Must be done no more than 72 hours in advance

before the departure time (note that the countdown starts from the moment the test is taken, and not from the receipt of the certificate);
— The results must be presented in English
(maybe in Arabic);
— The test must be carried out only by a certified laboratory
(here is a list of laboratories).

The cost of a PCR test varies everywhere - as a rule, from 1800 to 3500 rubles.

, but there is also 6000 rubles. - it all depends on the greed of the laboratory.

Test results must be presented in original, on paper.

.

The test may not be done:

— Children under 12 years old; — Citizens with “moderate to severe” disabilities; — UAE citizens (they take the test only upon arrival in Dubai).

Insurance with Covid-19 coverage - what kind is needed and where to get it?

There are only two requirements for travel insurance to enter the UAE: 1.

Coronavirus Coverage;
2.
Validity period: all days of stay in the UAE.

Regarding observation coverage

, then the Russian embassy in the Emirates recommends taking out a policy with this option, but when entering the UAE no one is interested in this.
So decide for yourself. If you think that you need such an option, then you can sign up for
Premium

program Polis812 AlfaStrakhovanie - this is the only option today with observation coverage (more details here).
There is one caveat to the Covid-19 coverage requirement. Coronavirus assistance is provided by most insurance policies, but not all companies report this directly in the policy
.
Accordingly, it is advisable to choose insurance that specifically states the treatment of the virus in the policy - then there will be no questions or misunderstandings. Reliable and inexpensive options include Allianz
(sold on
Cherehapa
,
Sravni.ru
and
Instore.travel
).

Here's a snippet of the policy showing Covid-19

.
AlfaStrakhovanie
policy (sold on
Sravni.ru
,
Cherehapa
and
Polis812
).

Alpha also reports treatment for Covid-19.

If you need better protection not only from coronavirus, but also from dozens of other (much more real) dangers, choose
ERV
(sold on
Polis812
and
Instore.travel
).

Here is information about coronavirus treatment.
You can find out prices and arrange insurance using the Polis812 widget
.

You can read about other options on the page about insurance for travel to the UAE

.
If you intend to visit the UAE on a package tour
, then your tour package will probably include insurance.
If you need a policy not only to fulfill the formal requirements for entry into Dubai, but also to receive assistance in case of an insured event, be sure to check who the assistance is
.

Very often, tour packages include the cheapest insurance

with poor assistance, deductible and a minimum of options.

For example, your tour package may include insurance Consent

with assistance from
AP Companies
(8th place in the ranking, many negative reviews).
This is one of the cheapest insurance (you can look at its price on Cherehapa
), which does not cover sunburn, provides assistance for chronic diseases only if there is a threat to life, and
coronavirus is insured for only $5,000
, which is unlikely to be enough for hospitalization.

Another option is an ERV

, where the best assistance
Euro-Center Holding
(1st place in the ranking) is replaced by a little-known company
LDM League of Defense - Medical Assistance Limited
.
Possible inclusion in a tour package for the UAE and insurance Full coverage
with the same LDM Liga of Defense and
a franchise
(?) to boot.

Other cheap policies may be included in the tour package.

We recommend taking out insurance with assistance for travel to the UAE, which ranks no lower than fifth

.

The second coronavirus test is mandatory for Russians; it is taken after arriving in the UAE at Dubai airport. The test is free

. After taking the test, you should go to the hotel and not leave its premises until you receive the test results.
