Do Russians need a visa to Canada?
To make any trip to the country, tourist, business or to visit relatives, Russians will have to apply for a visa to Canada to cross the border. It must be said here that having an American visa, meaning the USA, will not suit Canadian border guards. The Canadian system is considered one of the strictest in terms of customs regulations. From the point of view of obtaining a visa, getting into the states is quite easy.
Applying for a visa to Canada requires collecting many documents, the number of which varies depending on the purpose of the upcoming trip. Obtaining a Canadian entry document requires composure, as well as compliance with the procedural part. It is better to obtain a visa to Canada on your own, without resorting to the services of travel agencies, by contacting accredited visa centers.

, confirming a positive decision on your application.

A valid temporary resident visa does not automatically guarantee entry into Canada. You must also satisfy the immigration officer that you will leave Canada at the end of your authorized stay in Canada.
Attention!
The “Expiry Date” on the top line of the visa is the date by which you can arrive in Canada, not the date by which you must leave Canada. You must arrive in Canada on or before this date (DD/MM/YYYY).
Upon arrival in Canada, the immigration representative at the port of entry will advise you of the length of your stay in Canada. Your passport or travel documents may be stamped with the length of your stay. Unless you are notified otherwise, you may remain in Canada for six months.
Extension of a visa
If you wish to extend your stay while already in Canada, you can apply for a Canada Extension of Stay Permit. Applications for extension of status can only be submitted in writing and at least one month before the expiration of your permitted stay.

Reasons for refusals
Canada has long been, and with good reason, considered one of the most disloyal countries to tourists - the probability of obtaining a visa is 50%, registration takes months, the list of documents is impressive, the Embassy often requests additional papers. Therefore, when applying for a visa to Canada, we advise you to purchase non-departure insurance that covers the risk of refusal to issue a visa.
If your visa is refused, you will be given a reason. This is possible for the following reasons:
- availability of sufficient funds necessary for living and studying in Canada has not been confirmed
- the visa officer is not sure that the main purpose of your stay in Canada is study
- The visa officer is not sure that you will leave Canada at the end of your studies.
To obtain a visa, you must provide documents that: a) confirm your strong ties with your country of residence b) confirm that you have sufficient financial resources for your trip to Canada.
