The differences from the old-style document are the absence of Russian-language records - only Ukrainian and English, marriage registration notes.

Who is eligible to receive a Ukrainian passport?

First of all, the document is freely issued to the children of Ukrainians. If a person left Ukraine and then decided to return, he will have to go through the procedure for restoration of citizenship in order to obtain a passport.

Children of Ukrainians, first of all, get a document without any hindrance

Also, a Ukrainian family has the right to adopt a child from another country, obtain the right of guardianship over him - and in this case, it will be possible to issue this basic document without any problems. An adult foreigner must reside in the country permanently for more than 5 years, know the local language and laws, comply with them, only then should you find out how to obtain a biometric passport of Ukraine. If he has relatives among local citizens, the procedure is simpler and faster.

Types of passports in Ukraine

Currently, traditional passport books retain their legality. But ID cards are becoming increasingly widespread.

Old style passport

For now, the blue book remains valid for any actions where identification confirmation is necessary: concluding civil contracts, completing a banking transaction, guarantees, etc. It was left for use, since not all government agencies are equipped with special scanners capable of reading data from ID cards.

An old Ukrainian passport is used without additional papers when you need to confirm your identity. But sometimes you need to attach a passport to your ID card when performing certain procedures.

Biometric passport

The card contains almost all the same information as the previous blue book. Only it still contains the digitized signature of the owner, but the marital status is not indicated.

The plastic passport of Ukraine is reliably protected from hacking. The big advantage is that if the card is lost, it cannot be used by criminals.

Many countries around the world have been using plastic identification documents for a long time. But our state will also make money for us, because before the cemetery we will all have to change our passports five or more times (depending on your luck), and you will have to pay a lot of money for each one.
