Due to aridity, there are no natural bodies of water in Dubai, however, thanks to the ambitions of the local population, a grandiose project was recently implemented in the city - the Dubai Creek water canal .

In just three years, a new waterway was modernized here, becoming a natural attraction.

Initially, the Dubai Creek water canal was a natural lagoon 14 km long. It went deep into the city, dividing it into two halves - Deira and Bur Dubai.

In 1960, modernization of the canal - work was carried out to widen and deepen it, which allowed large ships to enter the bay, and smaller ones to sail between the new business district of Business Bay and the Old Town. Shops, cafes and markets began to be built on both sides of the lagoon, and later this body of water became a home for flamingos.

Every year the city of Dubai grows and develops, as does its infrastructure. new neighborhoods have appeared here , among which four of the largest can be distinguished so far:

• Bur Dubai is the historical part of the city with an abundance of attractions;
• Deira is an old densely populated area with an oriental flavor;
• Jumeirah is an elite area in the heart of Dubai;
• Dubai Marina is the most fashionable part of the city, away from the center.

If previously only oil brought profit to Dubai, now this city, which has become one of the richest in the world, has become the leading tourist and financial region of the country. Every year new records , especially when it comes to the construction and expansion of infrastructure.

In Strabo's "Geography" this sea was called the "Persian Gulf" or "Persian Sea", and the sea, which is called today the "Red Sea" and is located between the Arabian Peninsula and the eastern coast of Africa (Egypt and Sudan) in those days was called the "Arabian Gulf" " These names appeared in a large number of multilingual maps and historical documents; moreover, in none of the historical and geographical sources was the sea located between Iran and the Arabian Peninsula called anything other than the “Persian Gulf”. In the geographical treatise “Hudud al-'Alam min al-Mashriq ila-l-Maghrib” - “The Borders of the World from East to West”, compiled more than a thousand years ago, there is a mention of both the “Persian Gulf” and the “Red Sea”. Thus, according to this source, “The Persian Gulf extends from the coast of Persia.” As for the Red Sea, according to the same source, it “flows north until it reaches Egypt and becomes shallow.” In the same treatise we find a mention of the fact that Arabia (what we today call the Arabian Peninsula) is located between these two bodies of water: the Persian Gulf and the Red Sea.

The book Al-Alig al-Nafisa also mentions the location of the Persian Gulf, after which the author writes about where the Arab population lives. “Between the two gulfs stretch the lands of Hejaz, Yemen and other Arab cities.” Finally, the Arab geographer Muhamad al-Zuhri, in his treatise on the geography of the Arabs and also written more than a thousand years ago, says that “the land route along which the Egyptian people went to Syria, Iraq and the Persian Gulf ran through the Sinai Peninsula "

Sights of the UAE

The United Arab Emirates occupies the Arabian Peninsula on the world map. This is one of the successful states in the world. Many attractions attract tourists. The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is built entirely of white marble with 4 minarets and 80 domes. The mosque contains the largest chandelier (height - 15 m, weight - 12 tons), the largest carpet (5.5 km²).

The shopping mall is the largest in the world: shops with goods from famous brands, an ice skating rink, a falling fountain, a large aquarium with a tunnel with more than 30,000 species of fish. The metro line runs through the shopping center.

The Burj Khalifa tower has 163 floors, a height of 828 m. 40 floors are reserved for residential premises, the rest are located on the mosque, parks, boulevards, restaurants, offices, swimming pools, fitness centers, and a helipad. The tower was opened 8 years ago. There are 57 elevators installed, moving at a speed of 65 km/h. In sunny weather, the observation deck offers breathtaking views.

The Dubai Metro has 49 stations, operates underground, and connects attractions and the airport. The cars are controlled by a computer (there is no driver) and are divided into several classes. Gold class tickets are more expensive, the carriages are half empty, with comfortable seats and a doorman. Then - a carriage for women and children, and then - for men.

At stops and in carriages it is prohibited to chew chewing gum, eat, drink, smoke, transport animals, or alcohol. In a country with a hot climate, man built the Ski Dubai ski resort. The indoor ski slope provides everything you need for skiing, and there are attractions. Penguins live in the park.

Gulf Islands

The coast and islands of the Persian Gulf are my favorite place in Iran. The sun always shines here, the sea is clear, warm and calm, the landscapes are cosmic, and the people are some of the most hospitable and welcoming. For five years, I returned here almost every year, exploring new places and immersing myself deeper into local traditions. The result of my personal research is further in the article.

When is the best time to go?

In five years, I managed to appreciate the Persian Gulf in all four seasons - I was here at the peak of the heat in July, in the middle of winter in January, and also for the Iranian New Year in March and autumn in October. In short, the Persian Gulf islands are suitable for swimming almost all year round, with the exception of rare rainy and windy winter days.

Winter

If you are tired of the Russian winter with frost and knee-deep snow and you are looking for suitable places for wintering, you can consider the islands of the Presidian Gulf in Iran. Yes, there is no high service here, Islamic laws prevail, but that’s where all the shortcomings end. But an unusual, vibrant experience of immersion in a completely new culture awaits you. If you wish, you can get a visa for three months at the Iranian embassy and fly to the islands.

The minimum winter temperature day and night is +15 degrees, the maximum is +25. The sea is relatively cool, but swimming is a pleasure - crystal clear water, warm caressing sun without stifling heat and heat. Also, Iranians themselves like to come to the islands at this time of year, so there are quite a lot of tourists. This is especially noticeable on Thursday and Friday, Iranian weekends.

I swam in the Persian Gulf in early January, when in Russia there was frost, ice and cold everywhere. It was cool only for the first few seconds of immersion in the water. During the day, when we explored the island on foot, it was even a little hot, my head was a little hot, I wanted to hide in the cool shade. After sunset it becomes noticeably fresher; wearing just a T-shirt is no longer as comfortable as during the day. We slept on the shore without a tent in a sleeping bag with a comfortable temperature of +20.

Spring

In spring, the velvet season begins in the Persian Gulf. During the day, the air temperature rises to +30-35, and at night it does not drop lower than +20. There is no heat or unbearable humidity yet, the sea is warming up to a comfortable temperature, various shrubs are blooming and fragrant. One of the best seasons to visit.

Just be careful not to plan your trip during the Iranian New Year (from around March 21st and the next two weeks). There will be so many Iranians here that you will want to escape to a quiet, secluded place away from the loud crowds.

The Persian Gulf Islands in summer are a test for real extreme sports enthusiasts. The heat is such that even local residents, accustomed to the heat, do not dare to go outside during the day without any extra reason. At most, they move from the car to the house or store.

During the day, temperatures can reach +45-50 degrees, and this is against the backdrop of high humidity and scorching sun. In the evening it becomes more or less comfortable +25-30 degrees, but the humidity does not go away, and therefore 24 hours a day you will feel like you are in a sauna and sweat, sweat, sweat...

On a hot summer day you just want to take a dip in the sea

If you do travel to southern Iran in the summer, be sure to take basic precautions. Especially if you are accustomed to the climate of central Russia (not to mention Siberia and the Far East)

Never go outside without sunscreen, a hat and long sleeves - you can get anything from a slight burn and age spots to skin cancer. Drink plenty of clean water, give preference to the shade rather than the open sun, and even better, do as the locals do - walk either early in the morning before 10 o’clock, or in the evening an hour before sunset and at night. If, of course, such a regime is possible.

And in July-August, papaya, bananas and a local variety of mango ripen here. The prices, as you understand, are very low. A definite plus is coming to the Persian Gulf coast in the summer.

Autumn

Around the end of September, the heat begins to subside, dropping to a decent +30-35 degrees. Yes, by Russian standards it is quite hot. But compared to the summer heat, this is excellent weather. At night and in the evening the temperature stays around +25-28 degrees, which sometimes does not feel entirely comfortable.

Swimming in the sea at this time is a real pleasure. The water is very warm and pleasant, what is called steam. However, you should remember that it is undesirable to stay in the sun from 10 am to 4 pm - it bakes quite well.

Iranians usually travel at the end of summer (according to the Persian calendar), and therefore the 10th-20th of September can be quite crowded. After this, the new school year begins, and everyone forgets about traveling for a month or two.

Climate and weather in the United Arab Emirates by month

The climate of the United Arab Emirates is subtropical, with hot, dry weather in the summer and autumn months. Sandstorms occur frequently. Winter and spring receive the most rainfall than other seasons. The climate on the coast and in the center of the country is different. Near the bay, the air temperature is higher, cool at night, and in the winter months the thermometer drops below 0ºC.

Weather Features:

1. In summer it is very hot, temperatures reach +50ºС.
2. Winter is the ideal time for active recreation in the Emirates: walking, shopping, excursions. The water temperature is +19ºС, a piercing wind is blowing, the air is noticeably cooled.
3. Spring and autumn are the best times when you can combine active recreation and relaxation on the beach.

Weather in the UAE by month:

Spring and autumn months are the most favorable months to visit the country. Precipitation is unlikely; water and air temperatures allow sunbathing and excursions.

In winter, precipitation occurs in the form of rain. The water temperature is low, but the air is warm enough for walking.

June, July, August - the hottest and driest months in the Emirates make travel and walks impossible. In Fujairah the temperature is several degrees lower than in other resorts.

Marine attractions

Dubai is often called the city of the future. City officials are not content with expanding the city toward the desert. The most expensive plots are considered to be plots on the coast. Now they are created artificially.

Several archipelagos of islands have been built off the coast of Dubai, which are now real city attractions. Among them are:

• three Palm Islands: Jumeirah, Jebel Ali and Deira. The construction of the first island, Palm Jumeirah, which resembles a palm tree, began in 2001. After 5 years, it was built up with mansions, which were bought up by rich people from all over the planet in 3 days. The second island, Jebel Ali, was ready by 2007. The largest of the Palm Islands, Deira, is located on the other side of the Dubai Creek channel. Each island is protected by a breakwater from the strong waves of the Persian Gulf;
• The Mir archipelago consists of 300 small artificial islands, which are located so as to resemble a world map from a bird's eye view. The distance from the coast to this archipelago is 4 km. Unlike the Palm Islands, the Mir archipelago is not connected to the coast by road. Each artificial island in the archipelago is valued at approximately $30 million;
