Dzyuba, Miranchuk, Chalov, Fernandez, Golovin are among the top most expensive Russian players

Salaries of football players in the Russian Premier League

The average salary in the Russian Football Premier League is approximately 800 thousand rubles per month. These data were announced by the head of this organization. At the same time, the difference in earnings of football players from the top eight clubs compared to the rest is huge. However, recently there has been a tendency towards a decrease in the salaries of Russian football players. In 2021, the highest paid player in Russia, the Zenit striker, the Brazilian Hulk, who received a salary of 7 million euros per year, left our country. Since then, the fees of RFPL football players have not even come close to that amount.

All data regarding players’ salaries becomes known unofficially: through managers of football clubs, agents, as well as the players themselves, coaches and other people close to the teams who are ready to share such revelations. The figures below represent the amounts that athletes are guaranteed to receive in one year. These amounts include both salaries and signing bonuses. Other sources of income, in particular bonuses, do not apply to them. It is also important to note that these figures are “net” salaries, i.e. minus taxes.

The largest salary in 2021 was received by the Spaniard J. Garcia, who plays for Zenit, and the captain of Lokomotiv V. Chorluka - 4.5 million euros per year. Second place goes to B. Ivanovich from Zenit, who earns 4.1 million euros. Third place is shared between Rubin players Y. Mwila and A. Song, as well as Lokomotiv player I. Denisov - 4 million euros. Regarding the latter, it must be said that he receives one half of his salary from Dynamo, and the other from Lokomotiv, for which he plays under a lease agreement (in the summer of 2021, he signed a full-fledged contract with this club).

Next come: M. Fernandes from Lokomotiv and K. Promes from Spartak - 3.8 million euros, A. Dzyuba from Zenit - 3.6 million euros, L. Adriano from Spartak - 3 .5 million euros, Danny from Zenit - 3.4 million euros, A. Kokorin from the same club - 3.3 million euros. Juliano and D. Criscito from Zenit, as well as Zhonatas from Rubin, earn 3 million euros each. Spartak midfielder Fernando, who receives 2.8 million euros, closes the top ten most expensive football players in the Russian Premier League. The legendary Igor Akinfeev, the permanent goalkeeper of CSKA, is outside the top ten - in 11th place, earning 2.5 million euros.

The reduction in salaries affected even the most famous Russian football players. Alexander Kokorin, who earned 5 million euros at Dynamo, moved to Zenit last year and began to receive 3.3 million euros. This also affected famous but older football players who decided to extend their contracts with clubs. The earnings of the striker of the same “Zenith” Alexander Kerzhakov, who was previously paid 3 million euros, decreased by approximately 3 times. The salary of Sergei Ignashevich from CSKA, previously amounting to 2 million euros, was halved.

Fedor Smolov (29 years old), Lokomotiv

9 million euros

Smolov’s value could have been higher if Fedor had performed well at the World Cup and gone to Europe, but this did not happen, so the price for the Lokomotiv striker fell from 15 to nine million euros.

How much government money did the Russian national team players put in their pockets?

After the shameful loss on June 21 at the Euro 2020 championship, Russian fans are angrily counting the salaries of the Russian national team players and their coach Stanislav Cherchesov . Everyone knows how high the incomes of football players are, so where do our taxes go?!

Photo: championat.com

Objectively, such a “game” by the Russian team undermines the fan spirit, patriotism and faith in a bright future. It’s especially painful when you realize how ineptly—to put it mildly—budget money is spent.

First of all, I would like to apologize to the country for such a defeat, to everyone who believed in us. We are very guilty. And those who dreamed about it, enjoy. You can swear at us, set fire to us. You'll probably be right

– Dzyuba said on Match TV. But for whom does this make it easier?

Where is the money, Zin?

When he was Minister of Sports Vitaly Mutko promised that the salaries of athletes in Russian national teams would increase to 110 thousand rubles . Naturally, these funds should have been included in the budget of the Russian Federation.

It turned out - and this certainly causes a sigh of relief among Russians - the national team players are not paid any fixed salaries from the state budget. They receive their multimillion-dollar earnings thanks to contracts with clubs, participation in advertising campaigns and filming in videos.

For example, the captain of the Russian national team Artem Dzyuba , even despite the scandal with forced public masturbation, receives approximately 24 million rubles , reports the FOOTBOLNO portal.

What kind of financial motivation should national team players have if in one month they receive a salary that the average Russian would earn in 30 years?

Of course, spending cannot be completely excluded from the budget. It is enough to look at which club an individual national team player belongs to and it will become clear where the funding comes from.

Carrot or stick for Euro 2020?

The Russians know: ours can’t play football. Not literally at all, but still. Should we be punished for such a shameful loss? Probably we should. Not only for the loss, but also for the damaged nerves of their fellow citizens.

There is little pleasure in sitting down in front of the TV after a hard day of work, and even in abnormal heat, knowing that we will lose, but hoping and rooting for our people, and in the end receive from Dzyuba:

– We love our own ass adventures, so today we crap ourselves.

Photo: sport-express.ru

Nevertheless, as a participant in the Euro, the Russian team received a reward from UEFA of 10.75 million euros . You shouldn’t really count on this money - most (if not all) will go to the Russian Football Union to cover expenses for organizing matches and servicing the national team. The remaining funds will be divided not only between the players, but also the entire coaching staff, doctors, cooks, managers - everyone who was involved in preparing for the Euro.

In addition, football players can receive the so-called. prize money - for clean sheets (this is not about us), the number of assists, etc. These funds usually come from the budget.

For football players, this is pennies compared to their earnings, but it wouldn’t hurt to invest it in the same children’s sport.

What about Cherchesov?

Stanislav Salamovich Cherchesov, the head coach of the Russian national football team, has already been dubbed almost the richest coach in the world. According to unofficial information, his earnings per year reach 2.5 million euros . In rubles, this is 217 million per year , or 18.12 million per month - even less than Dzyuba.

Earlier, the Baza telegram channel wrote that the national team’s coaching staff receives from 10 to 20 million rubles for friendly matches. This information was denied by the head coach’s lawyer Alan Aguzarov in a conversation with the Sport24 portal. According to the lawyer, the amount of the prize money is significantly lower.

Cherchesov has been the head coach of the Russian national team since 2021. During this time, he managed to achieve success only once - when our team reached the quarter finals of the World Championship in 2021. But an isolated incident can hardly be regarded as a high-quality work of a coach, rather as luck.

And here the most important thing is that the main salary of the head coach is paid by the state. And here we remember taxes.

Why do our guys play THIS way?

It would be possible (and would really like) to blame everything on the coach, but we saw how the previous team played under the leadership of the same person, even if the result of the World Cup was an accident.

Perhaps it's all about the money, of which there is too much. So much so that the players are simply deprived of any motivation. Our guys haven’t played for the idea and for the country for a long time.

I think your players enjoy playing in their home country too much,

– says the 1992 European champion in the Danish national team Morten Bruun .

In a conversation with Sport Express, he explains his opinion:

They have created a too comfortable environment for Russian football players: if you are a football star in Russia, then you are rich. But at the same time, we see what is happening with the Russian Premier League clubs in the Champions League. Your championship is no longer as strong as it used to be. I remember how CSKA and Zenit won the European Cup, but now I am not sure that any Russian club is capable of reaching the Europa League final.

And, by the way, after the shameful match with Denmark, Cherchesov thanked our players. Stanislav Salamovich, maybe it’s time to change tactics?

Georgy Dzhikia (26 years old), Spartak

10 million euros

Already this spring, Dzhikia can play his 100th match for Spartak. Here we can say with confidence that the price corresponds to the quality.

Artyom Dzyuba, Zenit - 3.6 million euros (272.6 million rubles) per year

As we have already said, the main news of the next rating was the inclusion of the Russian national team and Zenit St. Petersburg striker Artyom Dzyuba in it. His annual salary, according to unofficial data, is 3 million euros. However, the rating also included a signing bonus of 3 million euros, which the player received when joining Zenit from Spartak Moscow. If you divide this amount by the term of the player’s contract, which is 5 years, then you will get exactly these 0.6 million euros, which allowed Dzyuba to enter the top ten.

Artyom Dzyuba. Photo: RIA Novosti

In previous versions of the rating, Artyom was not even in the top ten; his name did not even appear at the bottom of the list of the richest players. Everything changed when Dzyuba refused his home club three times, agreeing for a high salary to move to the camp of Spartak’s worst enemies on the football field, to the St. Petersburg Zenit.

At the moment, we can say that Zenit’s expenses are paying off. Artyom Dzyuba is in third place in the list of scorers in the Russian championship, set a record for our country by scoring in five Champions League matches in a row, which allowed his club to reach the playoff stage, and also became the top scorer of the Russian national team at the qualifying stage of the European Championship football 2021, which will take place in France this summer.

Let's make an amendment: most clubs do not want to disclose secret information on the salaries of their players. You also need to take into account that sponsorship and advertising contracts, as well as the size of bonuses and bonuses in teams, differ.

What bonuses are provided for reaching EURO 2020

UEFA will pay each participating federation 7 million euros for reaching the finals of the 2020 European Championship. The Russian team from the RFU will receive 70% (about 5 million €), which will be divided among all members of the delegation.

Alexey Miranchuk (24 years old), Lokomotiv

18 million euros

In our championship they talk more about Miranchuk only about Dziuba. Lokomotiv is ready to let the midfielder go. So far there are rumors from Manchester United and Juventus.

7 main intrigues of the winter break in the RPL: from Kokorin’s return to CSKA transfers

Javi Garcia, Zenit - 4.5 million euros (341 million rubles) per year

The star midfielder of St. Petersburg Zenit Javi Garcia from Spain fell just short of the top three richest.

There are no heartbreaking stories associated with this player’s salary. He was simply acquired by the team as a ready-made world football star. The amount of the football player’s annual earnings was also influenced by the fact that he moved to Zenit not from anywhere, but from one of the richest clubs in the world, from the English Manchester City. The defensive midfielder received an appropriate salary there. So the blue-white-blue had to fork out money.

The Spaniard plays consistently for the team. Not to say that he produced a football extravaganza on the field, but one cannot remember any failures on his part. He consistently plays at a high European level and consistently receives a salary that is high by European standards.

Hulk, Zenit - 7 million euros (530.5 million rubles) per year

For several years now, Brazilian Zenit striker Hulk with a salary of 7 million euros per year.

In principle, his salary level is quite consistent with what he would earn in Europe. And he came to Zenit as the most expensive footballer in the history of our championship - 60 million euros. The salary corresponds to the level of the player.

Hulk. Photo: RIA Novosti

It must be said that the Hulk fully earns his money. According to statistics, he is undoubtedly the best player in our football championship. Moreover, Hulk was included in the symbolic team of the Champions League for three rounds in a row, demonstrating excellent football as part of Zenit.

Average salary for football players in the Russian national football team in 2021

It is possible to determine the reasons for the high salaries of football players: Salaries depend on:

  • contract and salary, fixed fee for the year;
  • additional bonuses for defenders and forwards, number of goals scored;
  • forward of the season and goalkeeper title;
  • advertising participation.

The known fixed salary in the Russian Federation for an athlete participating in the Premier League is 900 thousand rubles. per month according to the head of the organization. There are eight of the most expensive football clubs that pay astronomical sums to their players. Recently, there has been a version that there will be a reduction in the salaries of athletes.

But still, more accurate data on the salaries of football players is unknown. Only the athlete's representative can provide accurate information.

When compiling the rating of football players, the athlete’s salary for one year is used. That is, it is impossible to determine a more accurate salary in the absence of information about bonuses. In real life, the income of football players is much higher than the official one.

Salaries of Russian and foreign football players: is there a difference?

Previously, we have already presented a list of the highest paid football players in the Russian Premier League. Now we can compare them with the salaries of football players from Serie A. Here are the salaries of the best players of their clubs:

Football playerClubAnnual salary, million euros
GomezAtalanta (the main opening of the season in Serie A)1,6
ChiesaFiorentina1,7
Luka Djordjevic (ex-Zenit player)"Chievo"0,7
Lorenzo Insigne"Napoli"4,6

*we do not take into account the salary of Cristiano Ronaldo from Juventus

As we can see, the salaries of RPL football players, even in comparison with Serie A, are impressive. At the same time, the level of Italian football is significantly higher than Russian.

Alexander Kokorin, Dynamo - 5 million euros (378.9 million rubles) per year

Alexander Kokorin , who at one time was called one of the most promising football players not only in our country, but also in Europe, also receives the same salary as Garay

Alexander Kokorin. Photo: www.globallookpress.com

The amount of the Russian’s earnings was also affected by Anzhi Makhachkala. In times of luxury, Alexander was bought with pathos by Makhachkala residents for huge money. The contract was 5 million euros per year. However, as we already know well, the club soon ran out of funds, and the players began to urgently sell out. Kokorin did not play a single game for Anzhi. A couple of months after his transfer from Dynamo to Anzhi, the striker followed in the opposite direction. Dynamo returned the money paid earlier for him, but was forced to offer the footballer a new contract that would correspond to what the player could earn at Anzhi.

So Alexander received a salary of 5 million euros per year, which was partly the reason for the exclusion of the blue and white from this year’s Europa League. The team simply could not comply with the rules of financial fair play - too much money was spent on player salaries and too little was earned. As a result, the team was excluded from European competition. The club was forced to start a massive sale, which led to 11th place in the national championship following the results of the autumn part of the championship.

Kokorin himself is currently not showing the level of play that everyone expects from him. The player's agreement with the club expires in the summer of 2021. Dynamo has already entered into negotiations to extend the contract, but on completely new terms with a greatly reduced salary. The footballer has so far refused these attempts. Already this winter he will be able to sign a contract with any other club, which he will join in the summer for free.

Income of a football player during the year and month

The topic of the income of representatives of this sport is very relevant. You can give a list of monthly income, taking into account tax payments (white salary):
