Average salaries in Thailand in 2021

How much can a Russian earn in Thailand? You should be prepared for the fact that illegal work for foreigners in Thailand is poorly paid. At the same time, you may have to work 6 days a week from morning to evening for almost nothing. But there is no other way to earn a sweet life: there are plenty of lazy people among Thais who want to lie on the beach around the clock and hang out at parties. It is the relative hard work and perseverance of Russians compared to the local population that makes it quite easy for them to find work and settle in an unfamiliar country.

Work for Russians in Thailand

What attracts Russians to Thailand and why do thousands of our compatriots leave their native lands every year in search of a better life? The answer is simple: there are always a lot of Russian tourists in Thailand, and therefore it is not difficult for Russians to find work here. It is quite natural that Russian-speaking tourists need a Russian-speaking guide or a translator with them, as well as photographers, sellers and waiters who understand Russian.

Very often tourists themselves, who have visited the resorts of Thailand more than once. decide to move there permanently. Some of them visit Thailand only at the height of the tourist season, when the demand for the services of Russian citizens is especially high. Others spend not only the winter in a sunny tropical country, but also move permanently.

The country is attractive to Russians not only because of its warm climate. Although, you must admit, it is much more pleasant to spend the winter among palm trees in a swimsuit on the seashore than to freeze every day on the way to the subway. The very realization that you will finally be able to move thousands of kilometers away and start living again warms the soul of many.

Pension provision

The minimum pension in Japan is $600. But only workers of low-paid processions who made minimal contributions to the pension fund can count on this. Among these now in the country are specialists in the field of:

  • construction and farming (small, but household production) - salary at $2,000;
  • sales (in particular, cashiers) - from $2,200;
  • retail trade (salespeople, waiters in small establishments) - average salary does not exceed 2000;
  • transportation of citizens (taxi drivers) - their salary is at the minimum level and amounts to 2000.

Also, janitors, cleaners, and animators will receive minimum pensions in Japan.

Mid-level professionals expect pension coverage of $800 or more. Contributions in the country do not exceed 5% of wages for the entire period.

Salary for Russians in Thailand

How much can a Russian earn in Thailand? You should be prepared for the fact that illegal work for foreigners in Thailand is poorly paid. At the same time, you may have to work 6 days a week from morning to evening for almost nothing. But there is no other way to earn a sweet life: there are plenty of lazy people among Thais who want to lie on the beach around the clock and hang out at parties. It is the relative hard work and perseverance of Russians compared to the local population that makes it quite easy for them to find work and settle in an unfamiliar country.

How much do Russians earn in Thailand? If we take the average salary of an illegal worker, it is 15-20 thousand baht per month. To make it easier to estimate, 1 baht is approximately equal to 1 ruble. For comparison, renting an average home in Thailand (not the most luxurious by the sea, and not the most miserable in the north) will cost 10-15 thousand baht.

How do Thais live on low wages?

Some may think that the average salary of Thais is not too high, but do not forget about the cheap life in Thailand. There are people who can easily live on 5,000 baht a month, and in the provinces - even on 2,000. The fact is that many Thais (especially in the north of Thailand) have their own land on which they engage in farming and cattle breeding, therefore, there is no need to spend money on food... in any case, rice dishes with vegetables cost about 50 baht. In addition, children who have gone to work in resort towns do not deprive their relatives and help them with money.

Salary to Expense Ratio

The ratio of wages and expenses is different in our countries. If a Russian spends most of his expenses (from 50%) on food, then a Japanese distributes the budget differently.

To correctly assess the level of salaries in Japan, it is necessary to take into account how much citizens spend on food, household appliances, and buying or renting housing. So, the prices are approximately like this:

  • studio apartment rental - from 40,000 yen minimum;
  • mortgage loan for a small apartment - from 60,000 yen;
  • monthly travel on public transport - from 5,000 yen;
  • purchase of a used car and registration of an insurance policy for it - from 30,000 yen;
  • food expenses - from 50,000 yen;
  • Internet, telephony and television - from 7,000 yen.

This is just a minimum list of what you will need when living in the country. It should also be taken into account that constant spending will be on clothes and shoes, household appliances and electronics.

An overview of working in Japan is presented below.

Average salary in Thailand in 2019

Many Russians have long chosen Thailand as a wonderful holiday destination. The country attracts with its unique combination of ancient culture and modern civilization.

Tourists enjoy trying the local cuisine, admiring the ancient architecture and magnificent landscapes.

Some, having seen enough of these beauties, are seriously thinking about the possibility of staying permanently in the state or at least working against the backdrop of wonderful natural landscapes.

Economic situation and labor market

Despite the fact that many people associate Thailand with the sea and a boring pastime, the country's industry is very developed and continues to constantly improve.

Most of the goods produced, as well as the mined tungsten, tin and other minerals, are exported. GDP from manufacturing is about 48% (as of mid-2018).

About 14% of the population works in this area.

Today the following industries are developed here:

  • textile;
  • petrochemical;
  • food;
  • mining;
  • automotive industry;
  • electronics production;
  • jewelry making.

More than 50% of the population is involved in agriculture. Thailand is a leading exporter of rice, wheat, corn, soybeans and sugar cane. Seafood, a traditional staple of Thai menus, is also exported in large quantities. GDP in agriculture remains at around 10%.

Tourism and the service sector continue to bring significant income to the state. According to various sources, this area contributes to GDP from 6 to 7%. About 33% of the population works here.

The highest unemployment rate reached 5.73%, and this was after the 1997 crisis. Now this figure fluctuates around 1% (among young people - 5.1%).

Thai authorities are protecting their own citizens from unemployment by passing a law banning foreigners from working in a number of areas. This list is very long and contains about 40 items.

Thus, citizens of other countries cannot work in agriculture, a number of industries, deal with finance (with the exception of auditing), legal matters, and so on.

Bloomberg calls Thailand the happiest country in the world. The happiness index, which is determined by the sum of unemployment and inflation indicators, allowed the country to rise to first position in 2021, displacing Singapore from this place.

Minimum wages

The minimum wage is 325 THB per day (about 650 rubles). In reality, this indicator is not always maintained. Inspection organizations often “do not see” such violations. But if the employer is nevertheless held accountable for this crime, he faces a serious fine (THB 100,000) or even a prison sentence (6 months).

The minimum wage is determined by a special committee under the Ministry of Labor, based on the standard of living in different provinces, GDP growth and other economic indicators. It may vary by region. The lowest payments are in the provinces of Sing Buri, Chumphon, Nakhon Ratchasima and others, the highest in Bangkok, Phuket and others.

The Workers' Solidarity Committee constantly demands to increase the minimum wage to 600-700 THB per day; the government argues its refusal by saying that enterprises simply cannot afford to pay such salaries.

This is the salary received by low-skilled medical workers, janitors, waiters, and laborers. Without higher education, people cannot get well-paid jobs.

Average salaries

The average level of payment is considered to be from 9,000 to 14,000 THB per month. As elsewhere, this indicator may vary depending on the position held, location, experience and education of the employee.

These data are given for the entire country. But we must understand that the salary, which will be average for Phuket or Bangkok, will seem more than decent to residents of, for example, Isan province.

Residents of such places usually work in agriculture, with about 5,000 THB per month, they work from morning to evening. It is almost impossible to earn money for a decent education in such conditions.

Growing up, many of them move to Bangkok, where they work as waiters or go to work in the entertainment industry (often illegally). There are a lot of rumors about this area of activity; it is almost impossible to provide any reliable data.

Who says that after working for several years in the field of intimate services, young people earn their education and arrange their lives in another field. There is also an opposite point of view, that people are kept there as slaves, not allowing them to break out of this circle.

Be that as it may, tourists who have been to Thailand note a large number of “moths” of both sexes on the street (not everywhere, in some neighborhoods) and a huge range of various intimate services and shows.

Standard of living

The income level of the average Thai is low even by Russian standards. One of the advantages is that there is no need to buy clothes and shoes for several seasons and pay for heating in the winter. In addition, they claim that medical care is inexpensive here. Otherwise, things are not so rosy.

What is the average salary in Thailand for the local population?

The locals of Siam live quite moderately.

Middle income family in Thailand

European earnings of several thousand dollars are considered exorbitant amounts here. 2000-3000 “bucks” in Thailand are mainly owned by large business owners and restaurateurs.

Restaurant income

The average salary in Thailand for a typical statistical resident ranges from US$350 to US$500. After the “sharks” of business, Thais with higher education earn the most here.

Thais with higher education

Young people after university can count on a monthly income of 12,000 baht . Examples: • The salary of a secretary of a Thai construction organization starts from 15,000 baht + various bonuses. It can run up to about 19,000 baht per month. • A leading designer in Thailand receives 20,000-25,000 baht . 70,000 baht in one place ). Not a bad salary for teachers in Thailand and teachers involved in tutoring.

Thai teacher with his students

For 1 hour of private lessons, local “luminaries” of science charge about 700 baht . The average salary in Thailand increases with proximity to the capital, Bangkok.

The situation is completely different with the income of Thais who have received only a school education. These are sellers, cleaners, auxiliary workers, rice pickers.

Seller in Thailand

In short, unskilled workers. Such work in Thailand is paid extremely low. The average salary of such workers varies from 250 to 300 US dollars . For example, sellers in stores such as Family Mart earn no more than 8,000 baht per month.

Convenience store in Thailand

Thais from the distant provinces of Siam have even less wealth. They survive by selling their harvest of fruits and vegetables.

Rice harvesting in the provinces of Thailand

On average they earn about 4,500 baht/month . Many “trans” and “moths” are from just such areas of Thailand. In Pattaya, such “fairies” earn about 80,000 baht . That's a lot of money for Ty. After such earnings, not many of them strive to fix something in their lives (go to study at a university and then work for 15,000-20,000 baht ).

But the Thais, even with a small average salary, do not lose heart. They always have “sabai-sabai” or “sabai-sabai” - everything is wonderful!

Everything is fine! Sabai-Sabai!

Ways to find a job in Thailand

In any case, before traveling to Thailand, you should carefully consider your action plan. In the case of remote work, everything is simple: just find housing with good Internet, get a card for withdrawing electronic money and continue working as before. You can find work in local establishments only upon arrival, which may take time. Therefore, upon arrival you need to have sufficient funds to live on.

In order to travel to Thailand to look for work, you can apply for a tourist or medical visa. A tourist visa is issued for a maximum of a month, then you can extend it for another month without leaving the country. Moreover, after this period, you will have to leave the country for at least one day, for example, to neighboring Cambodia, in order to avoid illegal stay in the country and deportation. A medical visa is issued for 3-6 months, but it is a little more difficult to obtain. Remote workers who want to live in Thailand often apply for a study visa, which allows them to stay in the country for a long time, and for the sake of appearance they attend English language courses or Thai massage.

What is the average salary of a Thai

A good tourist, going to a country, in addition to the usual cultural and historical attractions, will always take an interest in the economic state of the travel destination. In many cases, such information will help you find out about the standard of living of the population and independently calculate your travel budget

Before the trip, it will also be important to look at the exchange rate of the Thai baht to the ruble

For example, take the country of Thailand. According to 2011 data, the official minimum wage in the country was just over 200 baht per day. The Thai baht to dollar exchange rate is $0.03 per 1 baht.

Income, which is considered high in Thailand, starts at 10,000 baht, but the average salary is 8,000 baht ($240). For example, an electronic equipment assembler with ten years of experience can apply for such a salary.

He works six days a week, 12 hours! By the way, we note that such a schedule is considered normal for them. And this despite the fact that they have practically no days off (only 2-3 days a month).

Last minute tours!

True, judging by data from various sources, you can see an average salary of $700.

True, such a sum can be obtained if we calculate the average salary between officials and ordinary workers.

There is no need to think about which of them earns more... Perhaps such information is not unusual for our residents, because a similar situation with a high difference in wages also occurs in our area.

Now let’s answer the specific question of what is the average salary of a Thai. For better clarity, let’s take data on different types of professions. A Thai engineer earns 32,000 baht per month; a teacher - a little more than 15,000; an office worker receives approximately the same amount.

Their income consists of only four thousand baht.

If we sum up the results and equate the Thai currency with the money of our country, we can assume that with relatively equal incomes it is still more difficult for us. Judge for yourself: Thailand's climate is much warmer than ours. Consequently, they do not have to spend money on warm clothes, heating houses and purchasing heavy food. While this is vital for us.

Average salaries by specialty

For Thais with higher education, the situation is a little better: bachelors are paid from 15,000 baht, masters - from 25. But even in relation to them, the laws of Thailand may not always be respected.

Foreign language teachers receive more or less decent salaries. English teachers in Thailand earn up to 35,000 baht. Tutor services cost on average 800 baht, although he may have long gaps in his work.

The salary of Thai police officers is about 10,000 baht per month, and at the same time, not every one of them takes bribes. If we touch on the medical field, then nurses have to be content with 4,000.

Waitresses and bartenders also do not have much luxury, receiving a modest salary of 5 - 10 thousand baht. Therefore, it is customary to leave them a tip (read more about tipping in Thailand).

Salaries of managers and engineers in medium-sized companies in Thailand can exceed 30,000 baht, and programmers - up to 100,000. A real estate agent with a modest salary of 15,000 baht can receive an additional 90,000 baht from purchase/sale transactions.

Minimum and maximum salary in 2021

The minimum wage for a Japanese person depends greatly on the region of his residence. In large cities, the rate for the same work performed can vary by more than 3-4 times. According to statistics for 2019, the minimum salary of a Japanese person is 18,000 yen per month, which in Russian rubles is over 90,000.

Earning this amount is the minimum. Workers in professions that do not require education or specialized courses receive about 18,000 - 20,000 yen. These are cleaners, waiters, junior office clerks.

The minimum hourly wage in Japan is 900 yen, which in ruble terms is about 500 rubles.

There is a strong difference between the minimum wage and the average that employees with education receive. For the average Japanese, a salary of 120,000 yen is considered average. The highest salaries in the country are available for workers in the fields of medicine, finance, manufacturing, IT, wholesale trade, construction and real estate.

The maximum wage in Japan, as well as in other countries, has not been established. But it is considered that a person lives “prosperously” if his salary exceeds 500,000 yen - 260,000 rubles. Of course, only top specialists who have demonstrated their level of skill can qualify for such a salary.

There is a widespread tradition in Japan: if a person shows himself worthily in a leadership position, performs his work responsibly and efficiently, then he is paid an increase of at least 10% every year.

In addition, specialists in certain industries are encouraged in every possible way by management, including bonuses and trips. The highest paid professions in Japan are considered to be workers in the financial sector and business, as well as lawyers, lawyers of various profiles, doctors and pilots.

How much do “night butterflies” earn?

There is such a pattern: the closer the capital of Thailand - Bangkok, the higher the average salaries. Therefore, do not be surprised that there are so many Thai prostitutes in Bangkok, Pattaya and Phuket. Most of them came here to work from poor provinces.

In their villages, girls have been working on plantations since childhood from morning to evening, which is why they have little time left for education. And without a degree, they are unlikely to earn more than 10,000 baht. Therefore, they decide to give up everything and go to work in the resort provinces. You can earn from 40 to 100 thousand per month in the intimate sphere.

Those who believe that girls working as “night butterflies” have no other income other than prostitution, I would like to say that this is their decision. And this is the solution that best suits them to earn money to study at a higher educational institution, which costs about 90,000 per year. After receiving their diploma, they can find a normal job, albeit with a Thai salary of no more than 16,000 baht per month.

However, not every “butterfly” gives up their business, since in addition to pleasure, their work brings good income, which they quickly get used to, and the official average salaries in Thailand seem meager to them.

So, Thai law prohibits foreigners

Legal work in Thailand

If you have finally found a legal specialty for yourself and decided to get an official job, then pay attention to the following points:

  1. Before traveling to Thailand, you will need to apply for a Non-B visa. To do this, the employer must send you a package of necessary documents.
  2. Upon arrival in the country, you will need to immediately apply for a Work permit. As a rule, this is done by the employer himself.
  3. Start working only after you have the permit in your hands, thereby protecting yourself from checks by the migration police. You must perform only the work that is specified in your Work permit and do not forget to carry it with you at all times.

Finding work for foreigners in Thailand is not always easy. The state made sure that most of the vacancies were filled by residents of the country. However, there is always a demand for high-paying positions. According to statistics, legal employment is most often required for the following specialties:

  • designer;
  • translator and English language teachers;
  • programmer.
  • engineer

These positions require knowledge of English and experience in a similar position. As for salaries, amounts may vary. Teachers earn between 30,000-35,000, and the salary of designers and programmers at some enterprises reaches up to 90,000 - 100,000.

Salary dynamics

The Japanese are a hardworking people who often work long hours. Usually a person, having chosen a company, remains devoted to it until the last. This is incomparable with Russia, considering that compatriots can change jobs at least every month.

This craving is not at all determined by the spiritual traits of the Japanese, but by utilitarian interests. The fact is that an employee’s salary directly depends on the time he spent in a certain position and in the company in general. Typically the increase each year is 10%, but may vary.

When leaving a previous position and trying himself in a new place, a citizen again acquires the status of a newcomer, no matter how serious his merits in the previous place of work were. Consequently, he will again receive the minimum salary.

IT specialists and computer graphics designers remain the most in demand on the Japanese market. Enterprises are happy to attract highly qualified citizens of other countries to fill these positions. At the same time, the starting salary of a top employee can start from $100,000 per month. Developers and administrators are also in demand.

In addition to computer specialists, Japanese recruiters attract management personnel. But a foreigner can apply for such a position only with perfect command of the state language.

Next on the list of demand are marketers and advertisers. In order to promote their brand, some companies are willing to pay a specialist a month starting from $120,000.

Anything related to sales also pays well in Japan. Managers who are responsible for promotion and sales are in demand not only in large corporations, but also in small companies.

Teachers of different profiles

There is a teacher shortage in Japan. A teacher of English and Japanese in the country is willing to pay from $40,000. It should be taken into account that work experience has a huge influence, as well as its location (in the periphery they will pay less).

Doctor

Doctors are the most in-demand specialization. A surgeon in Japan earns at least 120,000. In private clinics the rate can be much higher.

Street cleaner

A janitor is a lower-ranking profession that falls into the first category. However, you can get a job without education. The average salary is from 12,000.

Masseur

The salary of a massage therapist depends on the place where he is employed - it can be either 12,000 or 50,000.

Salaries vary greatly depending on age and gender. Young office workers earn approximately 32,000, older employees doing the same work - 65,000. Men's salaries are at least $5,000 more than women's.

You can find out what Japanese salaries are spent on below.

Salaries of Thai workers

The salaries of workers at 7/11 or FamilyMart are not particularly different and range from 11,000 to 14,000 Thai baht per month.

A seller in a makashnitsa (I’m sure this word is familiar to many) from 1,000 baht per day.

A cleaning lady at the Ambassador Hotel earns from 11,000 baht.

Teachers: it’s more complicated here, if a teacher works in a public school, then the salary will be approximately 20,000 - 60,000, and in some schools it reaches up to 100,000 baht per month. If in a private school, then the salary is higher. But those who work for the state until the age of 60 will receive a pension equal to the average salary for the last three months.

My wife's mother worked for 38 years at a school in the village and was given a pension of 50,000 Thai baht. My father is a mathematics teacher, he worked for 36 years, his pension is now 46 thousand baht. I will talk about pensions in the following materials, this is a very interesting topic, but I will say briefly: the entire population of the country has a pension, and for some it is not bad.

Medical staff of a public hospital - from 15,000 baht, commercial - from 35,000 baht, and again, it all depends on the hours worked. If you are a slacker, then of course it will be less, but still not less than 20,000 baht per month.

My wife's sister works in Korat city as a pharmacist in a hospital and her salary is THB 65,000 per month. Although it is worth noting that she is a certified specialist. A regular pharmacist earns less.

Cashiers in stores, for example in Thai Watsadu - from 13,000 Thai baht.

A taxi driver by car or tuk-tuker costs from 1,500 Thai baht, and they have to pay to the car park for renting a car per day from 800 baht.

Taxi drivers and motorbike drivers - from 1,000 baht, bike rental - 300 baht per day, which must be given to the car park.

A cleaner in our company earns 13,500 baht.

Master repairman - 16,500.

Masseuse in a massage parlor - from 30,000 per month, they don’t want to work for less.

Policeman - minimum 22,000 baht depending on rank and length of service.

Sellers who walk along the beach and sell you all sorts of souvenirs - from 600 baht per day, while they give the rest of the income to their supervisor.

A girl from a bar - at least 2,000 baht a day, for less she is not ready to stand in front of the public in shorts if she goes to sleep with a client for at least 3,000, and there can be 3 or 4 clients a day.

In Boots and Watson pharmacies it starts at 36,000 baht per month, but if you work 10 hours a day with two days off, it will be 65,000. This salary is offered only to a certified specialist with a mandatory certificate renewal once a year.

Seller at the fruit market - from 1,000 baht per day.

Official employment procedure

To arrive in Thailand for the purpose of work, you must have an appropriate invitation from a local employer. Sometimes a work permit is issued directly in the country. An invitation from a Thai company can become the basis for issuing this document only if its authorized capital exceeds 2 million baht ($63,000).

Work Permit

The work permit is issued for 12 months with the possibility of extension. In addition to the Work Permit, a foreigner is also required to obtain a Tax ID - a card that is the local analogue of an individual tax number.

Preparation of necessary documents

To obtain a Work Permit you need to submit the following package of papers:

  • completed application form;
  • two color photos 40 by 50 mm;
  • a valid passport with a photocopy of the cover pages and visa;
  • medical certificate confirming the absence of dangerous infectious diseases;
  • a copy of the registration certificate of the Thai employing company;
  • bank statement about the account balance of the employing company.

Unlike other countries, in Thailand there is no requirement to present an educational diploma or vocational training certificate. The main thing that local authorities care about is that foreigners do not take away jobs from Thai citizens and are solvent.

Applying for a work visa

An entry permit with the right to work is issued for a period of up to 90 days. It can then be extended to 12 months. The standard list of documents must include a bank statement showing an account balance of at least $630 per person or $1,260 per family. The employer must provide an official invitation.

How to open your own business in Thailand

There are two ways for a Russian to open a business in Thailand. The easiest of them is to purchase a ready-made company or store. If the investment exceeds 10 million baht ($318,000), a foreigner can obtain a long-term non-immigrant visa. After three years, you can apply for a residence permit.

The minimum investment amount that could serve as a basis for issuing a business visa to Thailand should not be less than 3 million baht ($95,000)

There is an important condition: the registered enterprise must have a co-owner - a citizen of Thailand. Moreover, the share of the authorized capital on the part of the Thai partner cannot be less than 51%

Anyone can find a job in Thailand. Needed guides, waiters, couriers, instructors...

  1. Among possible jobs for foreign citizens, including Russians, they most often show interest in the field of teaching. In Thailand, new opportunities for learning exist and are constantly being created. Personnel turnover in the education sector is quite high. These factors indicate that it is possible for a foreigner to find work as a public school teacher or private tutor. The only important condition is that the applicant has a TEFL certificate.
  2. With the growing condominium market in the country, the real estate market is also growing. Large Thai companies are constantly in need of foreign specialists who are willing to work in analytics and timeshare sales.
  3. If a foreign applicant has a PADI qualification, they may well be able to become a diving instructor in one of the popular diving destinations such as Koh Tao, Phi Phi Island or Krabi. These resorts are constantly in need of guides.
  4. If a freelancer has a desire to work in Thailand and writes interesting articles, he will easily get several openings to work on travel sites, in-flight magazines and in Thai newspaper supplements. And in the end he will have a great career. To gain new knowledge about the country, a freelancer can work for some time as a guide.
  5. There are many multinational corporations in Thailand. And if the candidate has solid management experience, it’s worth compiling a resume and sending it to one of these companies.
  6. It is quite common to see a foreigner running a bar or restaurant in Thailand, especially on islands such as Koh Samui and Phuket and in central Bangkok. These jobs are usually passed from owner to owner. But if the applicant has good experience, then it is worth going and making personal contact.
  7. The same applies to candidates who have work experience and a desire to work in the field of hotel management. You should contact more expensive hotels in Bangkok. Large hotel chains often hire foreign citizens.
  8. Thailand is prosperous and provides many opportunities for entrepreneurship. From export of goods to marketing consulting. So, if you have some experience and knowledge in a certain niche, then you can start your own business instead of working for someone else. The best thing about this busyness in Thailand is that it is quite possible to keep your living costs low. This reduces the financial burden and gives you time to get back on your feet.

Tens of thousands of expats live and work in Thailand. However, there is not enough information about what they do because most of them are too busy with their favorite activities to write about themselves on the Internet.

Comparison with Russia

Naturally, comparing salaries in Japan and Russia will be a losing proposition for the latter

In the Russian Federation, the rate currently set for all regions is 25,000 rubles (at the same time, the average salary in the Magadan and Yamal-Nenets districts can be received significantly higher - from 100,000, since companies that are engaged in mining are also open here pay attention to difficult climatic living conditions)

Don't forget that Japan has a completely different standard of living. Rent of a small room, practically devoid of any amenities, not in the city center can reach 4,000 - 5,000 dollars.

Minimum

The minimum salary in the kingdom for 2021 is 6,200 baht (RUR 11,200). Despite this, the level of wages among native Thais is also significantly lower. Mainly nurses, low-skilled doctors, waitresses and janitors work for this money.

Average

The average salary for Thais is considered to be 10,000–14,000 baht (RUR 19,000–28,000). Taking into account the prices of accommodation, this income is quite enough for a decent living. This money is received by experienced secretaries, designers, fruit sellers and many others.

Average starting salary (for foreigners)

According to Thai law, foreigners must receive at least 26,000 baht (50,000 rubles). At the same time, there is a list of professions in which they are prohibited from working. Therefore, foreigners work as foreign language teachers, programmers, and fitness trainers.

Maximum

To achieve maximum income, you need a prestigious education, as well as many useful skills and abilities. For most Thais, an income of $3,000 seems unthinkable. Business analysts, professional scientists, IT specialists, lawyers and a number of other experienced employees receive 80,000–100,000 baht (150,000–190,000 rubles) in the kingdom.

Salary by city and region

Salaries in Thailand differ not only depending on education, but also by region. For example, in Phuket, the average income of an ordinary Thai is at least 14,000 baht (28,000 rubles). In the north of the kingdom the situation is different. In Chiang Mai, such a salary will seem high to local residents. Typically their earnings are 7,000 baht (RUB 14,000).

Salary taxes

All working citizens of the kingdom pay wage taxes within the state, but the existence of income that does not imply a “tribute” to the state makes Thai taxation flexible.

Income tax

This tax is paid by people who have income both in the country and abroad. The citizen must submit the declaration himself. Individuals are divided into residents and non-residents. The former pay income tax on all profits earned within and outside the kingdom. The latter have a tax that they pay on income in Thailand. For individuals, payments are made at progressive rates and are calculated based on earnings. Thais pay income tax of 10–37%.

Another less popular site is jobthai.com, but it is more likely for Thai companies - they are unlikely to offer you a job.

Work in Thailand for Russians, Belarusians and Ukrainians

The Kingdom of Thailand is one of the favorite tourist destinations for Russian residents. The exotic climate, the combination of ancient traditions and the modern direction of the country's development attract people to Thailand again and again.

For those who have fallen in love with this piece of paradise so much that they want not only to relax, but also to work in Thailand, a thorough study of legislation, labor market opportunities and other issues related to work in this eastern country is necessary.

Warning: regarding illegal work

The main thing that a Russian who has decided to look for work in the Kingdom of Thailand should know is that getting a job illegally is highly not recommended. The fact is that the government of the country treats illegal employment, especially if it concerns a foreign citizen, extremely harshly. The Thai police regularly search for and find offenders.

Under the new legislation, those foreigners who work in Thailand without the appropriate work permit can be fined 100,000 baht (roughly equivalent to 170,000 Russian rubles), or sentenced to 5 years in prison. If a foreign citizen works “outside the rules” - that is, engages in work activities that differ from those registered in the work permit, he also faces a fine of 100,000 baht.

Work in Thailand for Russians: how to find vacancies in 2020

After the fall in the ruble exchange rate, many winterers began to look for work in Thailand, as it became even more difficult to survive renting out apartments. The prospect of moving to Thailand for permanent residence attracts an increasing number of Russians every year.

Wonderful living conditions, low prices for basic food products, and constant summer will appeal to many migrants. The only thing that can stop you is a small list of vacancies in which you can legally realize yourself in a new country.

Warning before looking for work in Thailand

When deciding to travel to Thailand, you need to be prepared for the fact that this is a completely different country that has little in common with Russia. It has its own laws, its own mentality, its own climatic conditions that require moral preparation. To feel as comfortable as possible and at the same time more or less safe, you need to take care of the following things:

  • language proficiency, unfortunately, is nowhere in the country without English, and if you also have Thai skills, then this is a huge plus;
  • documents - they must always be in order, a work visa, a document on education or work experience is required;
  • place of residence;
  • material resources for the first time.

Please note that not every job will be available to you in Thailand.

Thai law states that foreign citizens cannot perform the work that the local population can do. However, there are always areas in need of good personnel.

For example, these could be scientists with proper education. Average salaries in Thailand for Russians (data is updated automatically based on exchange rates)

Illegal employment in the country is fraught with negative consequences. The migration police carefully monitors foreign citizens.

If it suddenly turns out that you are occupying any vacancy without the appropriate documents and permits, you may be taken into custody, followed by a court hearing.

The consequence of all this can be a fairly large fine, deportation from the country and blacklisting. In some cases, the fine is 100,000 rubles, and the arrest can last up to 6 months.

Salary

The salary of a Russian guide ranges from 1000 to 3000 dollars per month during the high season. Earnings include the approved payment for one excursion and an additional percentage of sales from the tourist package.

In small agencies in Thailand, the salary can be 300–600 dollars plus interest. But there are few such companies. Therefore, if you are lucky enough to get a job in a good company, even illegally, then you won’t have to worry about making money.

The issue of monetary remuneration is discussed with the potential employee individually.
