Not everyone, however, intends to return, even to complete the paperwork. For those who have decided to migrate, it will be useful to know how to formalize the renunciation of Uzbek citizenship in Moscow, since the legalization process without this stage will not be complete.

• Statement of consent to renounce citizenship of Uzbekistan from the spouse and about the absence of property and other claims against the applicant - 2 copies, both notarized, both originals, no certified photocopies (I brought the original and a certified photocopy on the first day - the documents were not accepted , I had to make a second original)
• Photocopy of husband's passport pages (only those pages with stamps) – 2 copies

You also need to have a completed resignation letter, application form and autobiography on a USB flash drive. Give the flash drive along with the entire package of documents. Some people get them back, but they didn’t return them to me.

Important! All applications must be completed on a computer! No handwritten entries! Documents will not be accepted!

If you are under 18, then your parents or legal representatives must submit documents for renunciation of citizenship for you. Here is what is written about this on the website of the Embassy of Uzbekistan:

An application for renunciation of citizenship of the Republic of Uzbekistan by a person under 18 years of age is submitted by his parents or their legal representatives along with a copy of the child’s birth certificate. Minors aged 14 to 18 years (if the child has not received a passport of a citizen of the Republic of Uzbekistan) must submit their notarized written consent to the application of their parents or other legal representatives.

If both parents are citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan or one of the parents is a citizen of a foreign state and one of them renounces citizenship, while simultaneously applying for the renunciation of citizenship of the Republic of Uzbekistan for a minor child, then it is necessary to submit a notarized statement of the other parent, which must express his attitude to the child’s renunciation of citizenship of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Let's turn to the law

The first thing you need to find out is whether it is really necessary to renounce your Uzbek identity. The answer is clear - yes, it is necessary. The laws of Uzbekistan do not allow dual citizenship. At the same time, according to Russian legislation, residents of Russia can have passports of two different states only if an appropriate agreement on mutual recognition of documents has been signed with a foreign state. To date, Russian representatives have not signed such an agreement with Uzbekistan.

There are several ways to renounce citizenship of Uzbekistan:

The period for consideration of the application may take at least one year.

If we talk about the reasons that may cause the loss of Uzbek citizenship, then the main ones include the following:

• joining the armed forces of another state;
• refusal to register at the consulate of Uzbekistan for 5 years after leaving the country;
• provision of fictitious documents.

At the same time, all those who plan to enter this country in the future as a foreign citizen will have to renounce their Uzbek citizenship. If it is discovered that you did not apply for a waiver, difficulties may arise at the border. Violators are subject to penalties up to and including criminal liability. True, to successfully cross the border, it is enough to have only a certificate in hand confirming that you have already submitted a package of documents for refusal.

Application procedure

For those who are already on Russian territory, it will be useful to know how to obtain a renunciation of Uzbek citizenship without leaving the Russian Federation. You should submit documents to the embassy of your country. The best way to do this is in Moscow. The representative office of Uzbekistan is located at the address: Second Kazachy Lane 2.

It is assumed that your package of documents should consist of two parts - originals and their copies. Please note that the set of papers that you submit while staying at home and in Moscow is somewhat different.

You can get an appointment at the consulate on any day, except Friday and Sunday. Moreover, it is possible to ask all your questions over the phone. A special time has been allocated for this - Monday-Thursday from 15 to 17.00.

Do not forget, however, that the issue is not always resolved in favor of the applicant. The reasons for this are quite difficult to explain. How to renounce citizenship

Officially, the applicant will be deprived of citizenship after the corresponding presidential decree is signed. But before this happens, the documents will go through several rounds of verification. Important: after an Uzbek citizen has become a resident of another country, he has exactly one month to notify the authorized authorities in his home country about this.

The procedure for renouncing citizenship of Uzbekistan begins with the consulate submitting a package of papers for consideration to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the republic. The agency, in turn, sends a request to the State Security Service and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, after which it draws up a conclusion and sends the case to the citizenship commission for consideration.

After considering the request, the commission members make a decision on whether to approve or deny the application. Only after this the loss of Uzbek citizenship is confirmed by the signature of the President of the Republic. The signed decree is published on the Embassy’s website, and the applicant is issued a certificate confirming the fact of renunciation.

Package of documents

The reason for delays in processing the application may be a lack of any certificates or errors in the application.

The list of documents for renouncing citizenship of Uzbekistan may differ depending on where the application is submitted - at home or abroad. The applicant will have to collect two folders, which should contain the original documents and their notarized copies. The documents must be folded in the order indicated in the inventory.

The standard kit looks like this:

1. Application for renunciation of citizenship of the Republic. This is the basis for the procedure. It has a prescribed form and is drawn up in the name of the president. A sample application for renunciation of Uzbek citizenship can be found on the Embassy website.
2. Questionnaire. Contains personal information about the applicant and his relatives who live in the territory of the Republic and beyond.
3. Autobiography. Does not have a set form. It is expected that the applicant must provide information about places of study, work, and family composition.
4. 4 photos measuring 45 by 35 cm.
5. Civil passport, copies of its pages.
6. Marriage certificate (if available).
7. Consent of the second spouse to renounce citizenship. Served only if both husband and wife are Uzbeks.
8. A certificate confirming the absence of debts. Such a document will have to be obtained from the Housing Office and the tax authority.
9. Receipt for payment of state duty.
10. Description of the package of documents. Here you need to indicate in detail what exactly you are submitting for consideration.
11. Departure sheet (when applying to consular departments outside the republic).
12. A copy of the guarantee of granting citizenship of another country or a certificate of acceptance, translated into Russian, in two copies.
13. Folders – 2 pcs.

If an application is submitted for both an adult and a child, the permission of the second adult (if he is a citizen of Uzbekistan) should be attached to the package of documents. Fee and processing time

Resolving the issue of granting a petition can take quite a long period of time. According to the standards prescribed in Uzbek legislation, this may take at least a year. Practice shows that this deadline is not always observed. Some have to wait up to two years or more for a response, and there is no guarantee that it will be positive.

How much money is needed for the procedure will depend on the place of application. At the consular section you will have to pay a fee of 120 US dollars. Children under 16 years of age are exempt from paying.

If you submit an application on the territory of the republic, the amount of the fee will be equal to two minimum wages established in the state at the time of application (now it is 202,730 soums or 3,198 rubles).

Additional expenses will require copies of documents and their notarization.

If a refusal is received, the fee will not be refunded.
