Today I have prepared a list of visa-free countries for 2021. Countries that have been affected by changes compared to 2021 are highlighted separately, and I have provided explanations for them. Very often, visa issues become an obstacle to a good holiday. Firstly, additional funds are needed to obtain a visa, secondly, processing and collecting documents takes time, thirdly, a visa may simply be refused, and then this threatens the loss of not only your vacation, but also part of the paid funds (if you have already bought a voucher or tickets). And you can only dream about buying a last-minute tour without a visa. Therefore, countries with which we have visa-free relations and are suitable for inexpensive beach holidays are traditionally popular among Russians.

2021 opens a new stage of impressions and travel. If you look at the calendar of holidays and weekends, you can add a few more days of rest provided by the state to the traditional vacation. To plan your trips, I recommend familiarizing yourself with the visa requirements of countries. I divided them into several parts:

• Countries where a visa is issued on arrival (conditionally visa-free);

I also provided information about the maximum period of stay on the territory of the state without a visa. The specified data is relevant for holders of Russian citizenship. No, the United States has not yet introduced visa-free entry, but many countries in Latin America will not require it. Entry rules are constantly changing, the list of visa-free countries is expanding. For example, from 2021 Dubai has become visa-free for Russians. Russia has a conditional visa-free regime with some countries. This means that the tourist will be given the required stamp at the airport upon arrival or when crossing the border. Sometimes entry may be free, sometimes you will have to pay for a visa. It all depends on the specific country and the purpose of visiting it.

Where until recently it was possible to visit without a passport

There have recently been more places where a Russian citizen could plan a vacation abroad without a visa or passport. Until 2021, the list of such states included Ukraine and Tajikistan, but now traveling to these countries will require a foreign document.

Crossing the border with Tajikistan

In 2005, an agreement was signed between the Russian Federation and Tajikistan, giving Russians the right to visit the republic without a passport or visa. Russian citizens could stay in Tajikistan for 90 days. Ten years later, the country's authorities made changes that allow crossing the border only with a foreign passport. In addition, the Embassy’s website states that the foreign ID must contain a stamp confirming Russian citizenship.

At the Tajik border or at the airport, travelers will have to fill out a migration card, which will then be required when registering with the migration service. Registration must be completed within 3 days after arrival at the site. When leaving the country, the migration card must be returned to the border guard.

Changes in the entry regime into Ukraine

Already, citizens of the Russian Federation present their foreign passports at the Ukrainian border. But starting from 2021, it will be more difficult for Russians to enter the territory of Ukraine. Decree of the President of Ukraine dated August 30. 2021 No. 256 put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine dated July 10. 2021. Among the measures to ensure national security, all foreigners will be required to:

• fill out an electronic form on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine in advance (no later than a month before the trip);
• provide biometric data when crossing the border.

It will take years to visit the most interesting sights in Russia. But if you have a foreign passport in your pocket, you can alternate holidays at home with trips around the world. If you like spontaneous decisions or save money by buying last-minute travel packages, there is no time left to obtain a visa. In this case, you can choose one of 70 countries with visa-free entry for Russian citizens. These include exotic Asian states (Malaysia), and picturesque Balkan powers (Serbia, Albania), colorful South America (Argentina, Brazil, Peru) and even 9 African countries.

To visit them, you only need a foreign passport with a blank page for entry stamps, the validity of which expires no earlier than 3-6 months after crossing the country’s border.
